nothing Rogers has even compares to the Wind plans, even without promos. i think i'll suck up the $200 ECF and switch when the iphone is announced. |
Iunno... wind IMO is still kinda sketch considering a lot of places aren't covered in BC yet... From what I hear, I think SFU burnaby is not covered so it will cost long distance to call to and fro in that location (?) I would probably wait it out a couple more years till my contract is over to see how WIND is doing in terms of reliability and reception (which I heard, from users, it sucks). |

Exactly what they said to me too. So I did. Did the math.. ECF was $150 with 1.5 years left on my contract. Was paying $60/month, WIND was only $40/month. Cheaper for me to switch. |
sounds like a steal of a deal... but i like my Unbreakable plan.. pretty much like this but i get Unlimited North America Calling and Unlimited World Wide Texting but i pay $40 |
WIND goes live with the $29/month "Super Smart Plan" and the "WINDtab+" | MobileSyrup.com Quote:

It is under a planned expansion zone but not ETA on when it will be complete. |
hm.... kinda sucks that its unlimited calling in its zones only, cuz i remeber the $40 plan they had was unlimited canada wide calling with unlimited data |
Good deal for those looking for unlimited local calling but I need unlimited Canada wide calling. |

Tough call between wind and mobilicity. experiences from either side of the camps anybody? |
I've been with Wind for almost a year now, the reception has generally been very good in Vancouver, there's still spots here and there, mainly outside of Vancouver, where there's no reception/low bars. Voice quality is really clear, there's the odd time (maybe 1 out of 70+ calls?), the voice will be garbled up where the other person will sound like an alien, but if you end the call and call back, it'll be back to normal. I make about 150-200 calls/month in total and I don't recall ever having a dropped call. The missed call alerts are really helpful, as they send you a text saying you missed a call from this person if your phone was off or in a no reception zone. Check out coveragemapper to see if the areas you go to most frequently have good reception. |

*nvm, found your new post * |
Just talked to a Wind Rep, and he said that iphone4gs / 5 is coming in september for wind. However, this deal will be long gone by the time it gets here. |

Wind reception is pretty bad and Im in vancouver. I have no reception at vcc, at work, in a lot of buildings, and dropped call 1 out of 3 conversations. Ive had wind for exactly a year now and switching providers soon. They have "dead" spots in all over Vancouver and my friend lives in one of them and she has wind too. When im there the phone is in emergency only mode. They said they would fix it last year but still the same, i still dont have reception there. I didnt really mind the crappy network because of the cheap plan i signed up for last year which was $25 too for unlimited everything. But since then the dropped call thing especially has gotten really annoying in the middle of a conversation and i am now willing to spend the extra money on a better provider eg. fido, rogers, telus. just my experience with wind but not all was bad, their customer service is pretty good and whenever i call them im on hold for like 1 minute max. |
