If I have a sony xperia x10i, it's not AWS is it? :( If my phone's not AWS, will everything work BUT data, or nothing will work?


Talked to my parents, gonna cancel all the data/bb plan off my current rogers plan so it goes down to $30/month, give that to my mom, and sign up with unlimited mobilicity for myself.

I'm PRETTY SURE AWS phones are in their own category right now and are not a band in regular phones. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Basically any phone that works on Robellus will not work AT ALL on Wind/Mobilicity. However most Wind/Mobilicity phones WILL work on Robellus on 2G.

x10i is aws version.

x10a is not. your good to go.

rogers had 1 or 2 penta band phones that will work. N8, N9, and Dell something i believe.

oh wtf usually SE phones ending with "i" is for asia and will not have the 1700 band. Is this the norm with newer SE phones now?

I'm still under contract with Rogers right now. Would I have to cancel the contract first or can I just go to a mobilicity store and they'll do everything?

^ Go to Mobilicity with your account number. They will port everything and Rogers will just send you the bill with the ECF.

not surprising. but that doesn't matter cuz Mobi doesn't subsidize. As long as IP5 has AWS. just buy from Apple.

seeing as T-Mobile isn't getting the iP5 either, my hopes of an AWS are fading fast.

When did you switch & when did you get the port in credit, did you call in and ask for it?

I just ported over less than 2 weeks ago, guy who helped me at the store said they wouldnt have any port in ..so I was like okay fine. Well to be fair, he probably didn't know at that point that Mobi would roll this out. I called in to the store (Station Square) and they're all like we can't talk, we're doing promo and we're busy, you have to come in.

Well fuck you,. I have work tonight, so I can't make it in. I called in to Mobilicity 1888 number and they won't give me the port in either. What the fuck Mobilicity, you run awesome plans, just not happy with the way they're doing this overlap with the port in credit thing at all.

i ported in tuesday 27th. port in promo was only very recent, like 4 days

arg.. they didnt have any promo when i ported over and they come out with this... mad.. im pissed..

i thought you signed up a while back when you started teh thread, did you port over and have 2 plans with mob now or did you replace your current plan with your ported number?

i Had 2 plans. first one i was testing the network bought a phone, got a free sim. I was hanging onto the old # in case of iPhone on Rogers. now i don't give a shit. Rogers ain't getting me back that easily. so now i closed the other Mobi # and use my ported # I had for 12 years.

when the port in bonus was announced, i jumped on it to cut my losses. I'll get like 3 months of free service on Mobi almost, with all the credits.

I just hope the new iPhone has AWS.
