I just activated on a new number and the reception is pretty good. No troubles yet on my E73 and internet speeds are pretty good. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. I'll give it a month/two and if I like it, I'll switch over and sell my rogers plan. |

Hey what's your new number? How is it working inside sfu? LMK bra! A good app if you got an iphone/android is budphone (bud light phone) its free VOIP for when you don't got service! |

I'm still using my roger's number but also have a new mobilicity number. I feel like such a drug dealer. *edit: Friend said that the tower for SFU should be going up around the new year so hopefully there'll be good reception then. Should also note that I've been getting full bars on E73 all over East Vancouver. Port credits of $50 for 25 plan and $100 for 40 plan. FYI. |
I signed up on the $25 BTS plan at Aberdeen mall using a motorola spice that I picked up for cheap, to see if the network was any good. Seemed pretty decent, so I went back to pick up an HTC Panache for the $299 discounted price, and then the people at Aberdeen feed me some weird BS story about how it's only for "new" activations. I told them I just activated with them 3 weeks ago, and noone told me about this clause, nor was it on the Mobi website. They said the cutoff is "2 weeks", and I'd have to pay the $499 or sign up ANOTHER number, pay a months charges, and then cancel that number and get the phone that way. So i'd essentially be eating a month's charges and whatever fees involved. I ended up finding a Mobilicity dealer on Lougheed Hwy where the save on foods is near brentwood that just sold it to me straight out for the discounted price. In fact, their price was $279! Even lower for a brand new phone! No activating some extra account BS. No cash grab to try and score more commission off activations. So beware of who you're getting your accounts activated from. Bunch of scammers at Aberdeen unfortunately. |
On a brighter note, reception has been very good for me in the Vancouver/Richmond areas that I typically hang out in. The Panache has been an amazing phone, I was able to install Swype, so it makes text input way easier. I love the ability to use it as a WIFI hotspot since my data is unlimited, and I found a cracked Netflix app that works on the panache, so I can stream unlimited movies on unlimited data! Few places I get poor reception are maybe deep into certain stores in some malls (out in the normal open areas it's fine in all the malls). One spot in the corner of Copa cafe. And I think just the random odd spots in underground parking lots and things. No complaints about call quality or dropped calls at all. |

Next day i call up mobi, ask them if what aberdeen said was true. They said yes it was. :okay: I end up going to lansdowne mobilicity, they also called the CSR which told them that it didnt matter, it was a promo for all customers. Bought the phone from them, went back to aberdeen to question them, they ask me politely to leave. :okay: I called up mobi to file a complaint with my brand new phone :fuckyea: So at the end of the day it really depends on which location you go to, ive had good luck with lansdowne and the one on broadway. |
hey guys. guess whats extended? :hotbaby: minus the port in credits and all that jizz :fuckyea: SHHHH. u didnt hear it from me |
for the 25$ BTS plan does it work for bbm too? or is it 5$ add on? if it is is it possible to get it for free? |

you need to add the $5 BIS add on for bb data to work umm cant really get it for free...unless you jump on to their.. *9900 purchase and activate on any $35+ plan and get 3 months of BIS internet for free. |
Read on RFD that the BTS plan is being extended for another month to match Wind. So if anyone's still looking for an HTC Panache, try this place: MVP Electronics 807 Carnarvon Street New Westminster 778-397-7100 604-725-6580 It's not a Mobilicity store but an authorized dealer; it's a Korean computer store of some sort. But they had the lowest price in town as far as I'm concerned. $239.99 for the Panache. It was very convenient to get there, like a one minute walk from the New Westminster skytrain station. Here's a link to their craigslist ad: Mobilicity Last Minute Sale Visit MVP Electronics |

how long does it take mobi to give me the $20 credit for settting up auto payment? i just did it about an hour ago and still nothing. Got the PAC20 promo code to work though. also, does auto payment pay out the outstanding balance our automatically takes out $28 a month? i want to use the money in the Wallet. |
if you already paid for a full year to get the curve how do the credit works? do they just go into ur mywallet but since u already paid+have unlimited everything how does that work? what would u use the credits on then lol |

auto payment should pay the outstanding amount owing, so if you keep that $10 in MyWallet you'd still have to pay $28. For myself i transferred it towards my balance so my next autopayment would be $18 |

Not to threadjack, but if anyone wants to get a better deal on their plan, they're handing credits out like candy because of the mobilicity plan. I have a $20 credit per month on my account now lol. |
^ I tried so hard to get credits.. and I got nothing.. I've been with them for 7 years too lol |

the PAC20 code does not work anymore :( |
I decided to get this to try it out, and see if I decide to let my Rogers account go after the better part of a decade. I've noticed a few dead spots OUTSIDE in Vancouver, though. One being at 41st & Main, just at the top of the hill going east. 1bar/0bar reception. Hope that's remedied soon. |
Hows the reception out at UBC? Depending on how the iPhone announcement on Tuesday looks I'd be super down to switching to Mobi 9900 with the $25 BTS plan (Its +$5 for BIS, right?) |
