AFAIK, my reception in the following areas has been good.

vancouver Burnaby grandview hwy/boundary road
burnaby Coquitlam along HWY 1

inside buildings, not so good. data speeds dropping. previously before BTS promo i got 2.6 kbps, now barely hit 1kbps

hopefully with all the new customers, they can put up some new towers and improve everything soon, and all of us early supporters will be rewarded with the greatest Cell plan in phone history.

with luck Mobi will grow

I've read all possible mobilicity/WIND threads on here/RFD but I would like a more recent opinion on Mobilicity.

I'm mainly in the Lower Mainland so UBC/Vancouver/Richmond/Burnaby. It seems that a lot of you have issues with reception inside buildings and that reception is fine outside.

A few report certain dead spots and dropped calls which is the biggest concern to me. Data speeds not so much since I my as well do my app downloads with WIFI (faster yo). Has anyone experienced any dropped calls or an amount that causes them to fed up?

Mobilicity is getting a lot of love in this thread but if I could get more details on what I mentioned as well as voice quality and data in general then that would make my move much easier (will sacrifice SGSII for Nexus S if it means having a similar Rogers experience without worrying about getting shafted).

Right now my Rogers retention plan is quite good for $47.50.

So TL;DR or my point - tell me about the reliability of Mobilicity in Vancouver/UBC/Richmond/Burnaby. Having no reception is a pain and I need the reliability of having reception/no dropped calls.

Vancouver/Richmond/Burnaby shoudnt be a problem with reception. UBC im not so sure of. Obviously in deep underground places reception will be not as good. Reception is constantly improving, so it should be no surprise if they get to the Robellus level after a year or two.

I havent really had a problem with dropped calls, and voice quality is decent. No echos, static or whatever. The one time ive had problems was when texts were delayed, somebody would text me, then i would start recieving them a couple minutes later.

I might be a earlier user than most of you, i got the 40$ plan when mobi was first debuted. After a month I decided that since wi-fi was everywhere these days, and the fact that data was so slow on mobi that i cancelled the plan, then went back another day and got the 25$ talk and text plan. They had an offer that if i prepaid for all 12 months, it was gonna be cheaper. Total came to 199+tax for 12 months(17.50+tax/month) unlimited talk + text service. Guaranteed for life.

28 is 25 + tax.

you got credited 2 for the current and 2 for the next, making it 24.

otherwise, it should be 25.76 per month after taxes from then on.

if you want give the store a call so you dont have to go in.

can call buddies store at 604-568-8508

I'm just wondering... if I do the preauth CC.. is that only for the monthly (28$ or 26$ etc) or will they charge your card for anything else automatically too? i.e. roaming and what not?

Psykopathik 10-21-2011 11:26 AM

auto payment will just pay for whatever your bill currently is.

that includes variables like roaming.

CRS 10-21-2011 11:31 AM

This is why you have mywallet though..

i though my wallet was for non auto payment people and to pay for overages. IIRC you have to transfer funds, its not automatic. i could be wrong tho.:suspicious:

Has anyone tried the panache then switched to the nexus s or vice versa?

yameen 10-21-2011 01:41 PM

for those that cancelled with rogers. how were your cancellation fees? i'm going to pay minimum $100 + this month's bill which is a lot. wtff

I think we are both saying the same thing. My wallet is for roaming/overages BUT the funds there CAN BE transferred to pay your bill.

But I think if your mywallet is empty, you can't roam?

my wallet is for when you are on roaming, the fees are subtracted from there. so you dont get these silly cases where someone gets charged $351542142153235213 on data roaming while in another country like you hear about with rogers or telus.

EDIT: CRS beat me too it doh!

FerrariEnzo 10-21-2011 02:48 PM

That sucks.

This is why you need to be on RS... ALL THE TIME.

Promos like this end all too soon because they are so hot.

On a side note, any one know if Mobilicity is a public company w/ shares?

My wallet is a seperate pay as you go account attatched to your current acount.

its your wallet, you choose how much to put in and spend. Hence the term "my wallet" YOU ALL DO CONTROL your own wallet dont you? or the bitches hangin on your arm do? lol

anyways, just treat it as that. If you pre auth, pre auth is only for the MONTHLY FEES. 25 35 40 , what ever. My wallet is totally seperate account, that has no auto refill, you fill it on your own time.

clear?
