These two promo plans are really enticing...especially the $40. Guaranteed for Life god damn....
I've read all possible mobilicity/WIND threads on here/RFD but I would like a more recent opinion on Mobilicity.
I'm mainly in the Lower Mainland so UBC/Vancouver/Richmond/Burnaby. It seems that a lot of you have issues with reception inside buildings and that reception is fine outside.
A few report certain dead spots and dropped calls which is the biggest concern to me. Data speeds not so much since I my as well do my app downloads with WIFI (faster yo). Has anyone experienced any dropped calls or an amount that causes them to fed up?
Mobilicity is getting a lot of love in this thread but if I could get more details on what I mentioned as well as voice quality and data in general then that would make my move much easier (will sacrifice SGSII for Nexus S if it means having a similar Rogers experience without worrying about getting shafted).
Right now my Rogers retention plan is quite good for $47.50.
So TL;DR or my point - tell me about the reliability of Mobilicity in Vancouver/UBC/Richmond/Burnaby. Having no reception is a pain and I need the reliability of having reception/no dropped calls. | Vancouver/Richmond/Burnaby shoudnt be a problem with reception. UBC im not so sure of. Obviously in deep underground places reception will be not as good. Reception is constantly improving, so it should be no surprise if they get to the Robellus level after a year or two.
I havent really had a problem with dropped calls, and voice quality is decent. No echos, static or whatever. The one time ive had problems was when texts were delayed, somebody would text me, then i would start recieving them a couple minutes later.
I might be a earlier user than most of you, i got the 40$ plan when mobi was first debuted. After a month I decided that since wi-fi was everywhere these days, and the fact that data was so slow on mobi that i cancelled the plan, then went back another day and got the 25$ talk and text plan. They had an offer that if i prepaid for all 12 months, it was gonna be cheaper. Total came to 199+tax for 12 months(17.50+tax/month) unlimited talk + text service. Guaranteed for life. |
