if there are locations you frequent and stay at for an extended period of time, i can see how wind and mobilicity are appealing. and i guess students do no need to be reached all the time. imo, it's not really a deal. $50/month gets you reliable reception. $25/month doesn't. you get exactly what you pay for.

Hmmm very interested... since I rarely ever use my phone to talk (I literally talk maybe 10 mins a week at MOST)... i solely use my phone for email and text. And browsing...

The $40 plan is pretty amazing. Unlimited North American calling and unlimited data? Wow.

Pretty much comes down to the call quality and data speeds which everyone knows is still hit or miss. I'm going to be living in Toronto for the next two years, right near downtown which I would assume would have pretty decent reception. I think it is probably when you go near the edges of their coverage zones when you start to experience spotty service.

I have unlimited data from Telus - $15/mo on top of my voice plan. And it's good anywhere on Telus' network, anywhere in Canada.

Only catch is, it's only good on my CDMA/EVDO phones... gonna lose it once I go to a GSM/3G/4G phone :(

The nokia e73 is a pretty good smartphone at that price range.

just called mobilicity and it will be a grandfathered plan. Unlike Wind which I believe is only for the first year, if you sign up with this plan right now, you can have it technically forever.

I am sooooo tempted right now. Rogers offered me a my10 + data plan for $67 plus tax lol. They just cannot compete.

If only they had discounts for phones, like maybe like sign up for a plan get a certain amount of $$ towards a phone or something.......
