think he was referring to... he'd rather be paying the big 3 for lte and reliability vs mobilicity

unlimited LTE + any voice plan is not = to $25 is what i mean.

paying 3X what i pay now for reliability is not my idea of value as i don't make a lot of calls. in fact i email and text way more. I actually don't like being connected 24/7.

as i've mentioned before, pick up a Speakout prepaid sim and keep in wallet for emergencies (good for 1 year), otherwise people will call back if its important. and there's also the option of going on roaming for like $0.10/min or something.

honestly i would love to go back to one of the big 3 for speed and reliability, if their prices were more in line with the new guys. the big 3 could easily wipe out the smaller guys buy offering $30 plans in like a few months, but they are too greedy. 100mb/month? are you fucking kidding?

you can see the big 3 are trying to lower their plan costs, as they are now offering $40 plans with data too. if you want change, speak with your wallet.

no i agree. i switched to wind for the same reason. what i was saying was, the guy was pointing out the flaws of mobi and he'd rather pay more for reliability and such, not necessarily unlimited LTE, but just LTE speeds for the premium. in his post he didn't point out a specific price, just the fact that he wants reliability and speed, and was willing to pay the extra bit a day to do have that

For me, Mobilicity roams more often than wind did when I had it. However it also depends on which area's you frequent often, as one carrier may have better reception in some areas. I'm going to say that Wind > Mobi though. :fullofwin:

Winds CS sucks ball tho
and from what people say, they Overcharge quite often

in general, i have noticed a better signal when i am out, as well as better data speed. not HUGE increases but better. almost full bars everywhere.

however where i need it (home) i get almost nothing. pretty damn important. I even lose signal too. Mobi never cut off completely for me at home.

anyways, it really depends on your location and frequently traveled spots.

in general id say Wind is superior.

This new BTS plan requires you to be on Pre Authorized Credit. The data is an add on and they credit you the dollar amount for data. Once you remove the PAC i think the data credit will be gone.

wut?

there aren't any credits this time. data is included. no PAC discounts.

in fact if you switch from OLD BTS plan to new, you LOSE your PAC /$2 off credits.

EDIT I misread, sorry, yes you HAVE to go onto PAC/pre authorized CC payments to get this plan.

SuperAman 08-08-2012 10:54 AM

apparently this is not the old BTS plan. The old plan the data was "built in"
with this new one, they call it the 25.00 Consumer Plan and than they put in a 10.00 data addon. They than credit you the data part.
That is what I have on my invoice. So the fine print says available on PAC payment. So once you remove the PAC from file you lose the credit part

good to know SuperAman, however who wouldnt pay via CC? you get charged $3 extra every time you go in store to pay.

zx7rrrr 08-08-2012 02:26 PM

was there ever a $15 bts plan for mobilicity?

Just saying, some people don't have credit cards and prefer to pay in cash. I know lots of people that have credit cards but they don't like using it for pre authorized anything and they like paying in cash.
The 3.00 surcharge I don't agree with, but if people don't want to use PAC than it is what it is.

I don't believe so, I think they only had 25.00 and 35.00 dollar plans

the had a $30 plan for 50% off. but BTS was always $25

re: PAC, well i cant justify throwing away $36/year and my time just to go in and pay. whatever floats your boat i guess.

Traum 08-12-2012 10:41 PM

Was at a Mobilicity store earlier and wanted to sign up for a Google Nexus + $25/month BTS plan. According to the website, this was an available option. However, the sales person told me the Google Nexus could only be had with the $35/month BTS plan.

Did something change, or was the guy at that particular store just pulling my leg?
