Wow, I am so glad that I am on WIND. How can you charge users an extra $20/month to get 4G speed?

That's like when Rogers charged an additional fee initally for their LTE release, when Bell and Telus did not. That's didn't very fair well for them.

The extra $20 a month gives you 20GB data plan.

I believe it also gives you access to their 4G network that regular Mobilicity data user's don't get. Correct me if I am wrong.

lol... so... the company that has the most complaints about their shitty reception and speeds have upgraded their data speeds to LTE, but you have to pay $20/mo more just to get on it? damn! lol.

They upgraded to HSPA+, which is also considered 4G. So yes, you need to pay an extra $20 per month just to use their HSPA+ service. If you're on a Mobi $29 plan, that would be $49 per month to use their faster network. I might as well pay an extra $5 or so and go with Robellus (or WIND for much cheaper and faster).

sucks for people who stuck it out with Mobi since the beginning. you'd figure they'd all get free upgrades in speed at the very minimum.

after taxes it's still cheaper than wind so i'll end up sticking around b/c my phone is only for weekend use (work gives me a robbers iphone during the week)

In all honesty I only stuck with Mobi cause the plan was a steal.

It's the $55 unlimited plan but for TWO phones at $69.99... I never saw that offer again, even the Wind people couldn't match that for me if I wanted to switch to Wind for the Note 2. :okay:

Its too bad those plans aren't forever. Just promo plans for like 6 months I believe?

Depends on your usage. I personally feel 42mbps HPSPDA+ (but who offers it currently?) is enough where LTE is overkill. However, the faster I'm able to connect to stuff, the faster I'll be when loading videos, streaming video games on OnLive and various tasks means its better overall right?

But is 75mbits really needed... for a phone ? That's faster than Shaw Broadband fittttyyy. :badpokerface:

With HD content and gaming on the rise, I'm sad that we haven't reached 150Mbps LTE. I'm happy Shaw is starting to finally open up the lines (fucking ass all-in-one Cisco routers however). We are too far behind when it comes to internet in general unlike Asia and the UK.

But still even 25mbits/s is 1080 stream-able on a computer. It should be way easier on a phone and I can't do as many things on a phone than a computer. I guess I'm too simple to need LTE, though HPSDA + sounds more my way.

When and if Mobilicity or Wind does support such speeds (which it probably won't) it'll have to bet on winning LTE 700 MHz frequency. And by george if they do win that infrastructure, they'll give Robellus a run for its money.

Do you tether? Its quite harsh tethering 3g+ on many devices when the need arises.

I don't tether, but it's all personal use. Youtube songs; Twtich.tv and mainly browsing. I love browsing on my phone. I could see tethering as a good idea though, I'm going to phone Mobi in the morning and bitch about how "I have been with them from almost the beginning and still have to pay $20 for extra speed" and maybe get a better deal. Hue hue hue

This 20mbit/s 3.5g speed thing sounds just about right for me though, but I don't want to pay for it... MAYBE an extra $5 really...

They have a pretty decent plan for $40 I think it was, you get everything from Mobi besides the US long distance. It's pretty close to what I get for $35 unlimited everything (Though it's really 69.99 for two phones) . EDIT: Wait that might be a tab contract.... not sure.
