they will just say that their service/network isnt as good as theirs, which is true to some extent...

just make sure you get service before you port over.. like maybe try out the service for 1 month with a cheapo phone.. which isnt a big loss if you end up not liking it..
if you do like it, you can port over..

For the $299 HTC Panache, do you have to activate a new account and plan with them in order for it to be 299?

I was told its $499 regular price without a plan

NSX 09-05-2011 12:21 AM

Got my HTC yesterday. So far, so good. Burnaby, metro town area, 2nd narrows bridge, North vancouver, very good bars.

The sales people in the store "told" me that tomorrow is the last day.

LOL. they will tell you not to let the door hit your ass on the way out.

i was with Rogers for 12 years. they countered Mobi's deal with one that was TWICE what i'm currently paying and saying "Honestly, we have nothing"

goo3 09-05-2011 11:52 PM

Nexus S > Panache?

BrRsn 09-05-2011 11:58 PM

Fuck i wanna get this plan but i haven't had a chance to take my dads mobilicity phone upto SFU yet.

If it does workout outside at SFU, I was thinking of getting an iphone 4 and using budphone calling app. Then, if there's no signal inside, I can connect to SFU wifi and use SFU wifi to make calls/watsapp people, and once outside, I can just use my network coverage. Would be f-ing sweet if that worked. Hopefully deal is still working tmrw, gonna take my dads phone and test it out, and get the hell outta my $80/month contract.

goo3 09-06-2011 12:36 AM

Can you roam 2g at SFU for 20cents/min?

I thought if i connect to wifi i can use watsapp/bbm/anything that uses internet for free?

goo3 09-06-2011 02:00 AM

Yes. As another option, I'm wondering if you can roam in a mobilicity dead spot if you wanna receive calls.

im with roger and i told them i was going to cancel, and they told me they could match the offer i wanted to get; the back to school plan mobilicity was offering. They said however they couldn't match the unlimited data because they don't have that option but instead they will give me 6GB data instead. So, i was like okay if you can match the plan i will stay with roger...next tthing u know he tells me the total comes to 67$...i'm like :fulloffuck: i want you to match the price and package...not just the package and give me a price that is almost x3 the price i would pay with mobilicity....roger retention plan...he also told me he would keep this offer on my account if i ever changed my mind..i'm like :seriously:

NSX 09-06-2011 07:19 PM

So I signed up today :fullofwin:

By prepaid program, do you mean auto monthly payments? You get $20 credit for that?

Yes by adding a credit card on file for pre authorized payments. Must be added via phone not in store

yup, you will get 2 credits of $10. 1 each month.

aznl3oi 09-09-2011 01:32 PM

just got the back to school plan and some motorola spice phone. I live in surrey and so far the reception/data is pretty fast and clear. Btw guys if you have time call around because the phones are all priced differently at different locations. I saw the panache 4G at 269$ (website posted at 299$) and nexus s for 319(website posted at 349$) at some locations when i was looking online. Always ask them for the best price and they will give you their "one day special deal" or else they will give you the regular price.

does that pre-paid method on the phone still apply? 10$ for 2 months? i went to the store and asked but they said they didn't know.
