Btw guys if you have time call around because the phones are all priced differently at different locations. I saw the panache 4G at 269$ (website posted at 299$) and nexus s for 319(website posted at 349$) at some locations when i was looking online. Always ask them for the best price and they will give you their "one day special deal" or else they will give you the regular price.

does that pre-paid method on the phone still apply? 10$ for 2 months? i went to the store and asked but they said they didn't know.

the stores have no clue. like i said the first time, CALL IN.

So how long does this offer last? My contract with fido is ending this or next month and most likely gonna jump on this. Im using a blackberry 9900. Should be fine yea?

Mobilicity works unbelievably well in Toronto. I get awesome reception and good data speeds everywhere except underground in Eaton Centre and in the subway.

Hopefully Vancouver improves their network to Toronto's standard in the next year or two.

this would be sweet with a grooveshark app!

Its actually constantly improving, before up at Mt.Fromme MTN biking i had 0 reception, now i have full bars throughout. Another example is Alexandra Rd in Richmond used to have 1 bar to no reception, getting 3-4 bars now.

One of the most important dead zones is in the canada line, if you can wait out that 10 ish minutes from marine dr. to waterfront like me then its actually pretty good for the price.

rumored 15th or 18th. so get off your ass and spend $28 to give yourself another month to think it over

just got the spice, since it was cheap. i thought about the e73 but its kinda old and i dont think you can tether, also it was another $50, i didn't feel like dropping $350+ for the panche or nexus cuz i was only using this to test. but from what i heard from the 2 other guys in the store when i signed up who was also on moblicity the reception was decent.

I am thinking about getting the Spice just to get this plan, how is the quality of the phone and reception? Also is it android 2.2?

racerman88 09-10-2011 08:57 AM

you have to be student for that plan. My buddy asked and they said they require a student id

604Sparda 09-10-2011 09:58 AM

^ Ask your buddy to go to another store.

did you not even read? Yah that store misinformed your friend. I am definitely NOT a student.

GLOW 09-10-2011 05:07 PM

that store screwed themselves out of a sale LOL

ceeteezy 09-10-2011 05:57 PM

Anyone using moblicity and living along marine drive near killarney? The sales guy looked up my address to make sure my area has reception and said its really bad in my area but when I checked out the my area on their website it looks fine...

minoru_tanaka 09-11-2011 02:08 PM

when I asked if I had to be a student they laughed at me and said "It's the back to school plan, but it doesn't say that you are going back to school. But somebody is"

To add to this, i've had Moblicity since Oct last year and in Parker Place, Mobi didn't have any reception their for the longest time. Now it's full bar all the time.

What phones do you guys have with them?

Any of you get the Panache?

dinamix 09-12-2011 02:03 PM

Got the nexus s .hated it at first .took me a week to get used to it. Probably the best phone I've ever owned. Smooth os .this is coming from an iPhone owner. Only complaint is battery life.

same. however i found i was able to stretch the battery life a lot by turning off background updates (which is required to access the marketplace). and dim the LCD back light.

I got the Panache, was deciding between the Nexus S and the HTC and i came out with the HTC.

Really like the HTC so far, notification LED is always great, good call quality, might actually have improved reception over my old phone.

Only complaint is battery life, maybe the buttons feel a little bit cheap, but yea great phone.

411ken 09-12-2011 07:15 PM

^ Thanks.

I got the Panache too and what I find weird is this.

1. If I'm not touching the phone .. it says it has 3 bars or whatever but as soon as I unlock it, it goes down to 1 bar or even nothing..thus making data super duper slow lol.

2. Then today at work, I was in my room and it had 3 bars.. walked around inside to get some coffee and it went to 0 and then said "limited access" the whole time i was waiting.

3. Upstairs at my house..i get 3 bars then it goes to nothing when I go downstairs. (I can still use the phone but data is pretty darn slow)

I wonder if it's the phone itself having issues or the network itself?

Any thoughts? do you have these issues or ran into it?

So far, I'm enjoying everything and will keep the plan but those 3 things are the ones I can think of right now that puzzles me.

411ken 09-12-2011 07:19 PM

double post

AVS_Racing 09-12-2011 11:08 PM

^^^ some times i get that on my spice but not as common as your issue. the refresh rate seems pretty slow. also on the spice i was able to reduce batt consumption by setting it to turn off data when the phone is not in use after 15mins, so i should be able to get through a day with average usage. also ive noticed that the phone drains a shit load of batt trying to regain signal if your in a dead zone. my phone used like 40% batt life after about 3 hours in a dead zone, and i didn't even touch the phone.

Psykopathik 09-13-2011 06:49 AM

if you are in a dead zone, the phone will constantly try to get a signal. that kills battery power. if you are in a known dead spot, switch to airplane mode.
