Mobilicty Deals thread I will no longer be updating this thread as I have gone to Wind which I believe to be superior in pretty well all respects. ~Psykopathik :okay: GENERAL INFO ON MOBILICITY BELOW THIS LINE :p Note to use Mobilicity or Wind networks, you need an unlocked AWS frequency capable phone which is the AWS 1700/2100 frequencies. yup need BOTH. some examples are Nexus S and HTC Panache. note: these phones also have Rogers/Fido variants that DO NOT support AWS. buy with caution. a few more are LG Optimus X2, Samsung Nexus 1, HTC Maple. not all phones support tethering, so choose wisely and do your homework. To get on Mobilicity, you need an AWS frequency phone like the Samsung Nexus S (not from Fido/Rogers/Koodo). Wind phones will work if they are unlocked. Many T-Mobile phones also work if unlocked as well. *My Wallet = when you setup an online account, you have a thing called My Wallet. Any credits you get go there. You can use the $ to pay for anything (roaming/long distance/add ons/pay your bill). Cannot be converted to Cash. *The credits will be distributed in monthly installments of $10-$20/ month, not a lump sum. -Cheap phones Things to consider: CONS -Mobi (like Wind) is a small company, they don't have as many towers and therefore, worse reception than Rogers or any of the Major companies = dropped calls, dead zones, no service in underground areas. -Data isn't really unlimited. It's 5 GB. after you hit your cap, they slow you down until your next billing period. -Dealers seem a little underhanded making up deals as they go. Be wary. - DATA is no longer "unlimited" after 100Mb/hour you get throttled. PROS -Cheap as hell -Tethering is FREE, everyone else charges. -NON contract. leave anytime you want, no penalty. -My Bill every month is $26 AFTER TAX. everything is included. No System Access fee/911 BS. AWS Phone List: Spoiler! EXTRA ADDED PHONE LIST HERE AND NO iPhones They don't work on this network, stop asking. EDIT: iPhones starting with the 5 will now work. Check the serial #'s to be sure. plus whatever is on Wind, Mobilicity, and T-Mobile's site I'll add more as I think of it. Feel free to http://www.revscene.net/styles/darkl...ost_thanks.gif me :D |

How is the reception and network for mobilicity? I heard its pretty bad and Ive had wind for the past year and about 1 out of 2 conversations it cuts out for 10 seconds and sometimes it cuts out completely, the line gets disconnected and the phone says "network busy". I hate it it is so annoying. I'm looking to switch now and probably go with city fido. |
Un.Fucking.Believable. There is NO WAY I can any of the big 3 even coming close to plans like this. |

Fido, Koodoo, Chatr and all the branch offs do not and will not have a similar plan that includes IN.FUCKING.LIMITED data for $25. |
:werd: With the big 3, $25 might be able to get you the 500mb data add-on :fuckthatshit: |

So you need to provide student ID to get these plans? |
what do they mean by "local" though cuz wind already has pretty shit local coverage + not that many places are covered, i heard mobilicity was even worse |

Includes SFU! :lol |
I heard Mobilicity's coverage is horrible with dropped calls everywhere. The coverage was so bad that my friend left it to go Chatr. |
friend has mobilicity i can barely have a conversation with him without it cutting out so i just text him now |

no you dont have to be a student to get deaL, Wind deal is only 12 months, then jumps too $45 for 2 years (to take advantage of Windtab +). if you can ride out Mobi's growing pains, you will have an unreal plan when the network matures (if). im signing up just to ensure i dont miss out. $25 is too cheap to pass. i pay $31 after taxes and shit for 500 eve/weekend min +text from Rogers. id be stupid to miss this. this is like the old fido to fido plans that people sold for big bucks later on, only more awesome-er ;) worst case scenerio, you buy a Nexus S for cheap and move to Wind After a month |
