Sorry Brah's! I'll post up the results when I get a couple minutes but for the next challenge its...
SEATED MILITARY PRESS with half your bodyweight as many as you can
We all know how to do this, I expect some big numbers out of a few of us. Only stipulation I'm going to put is that it must be in front of the face not behind the neck. The bar I use for this has a bend in it so I can put my arms directly beside my head and bar passes behind it. If you have this bar feel free to use it as well. Arms must go at least parallel with the floor to count as a rep.
I was trying to decide if we should go .75% bodyweight but 1. were all monkeys and not good at math and 2. I figure some high reps wouldn't be to fun to do so fuck it. Enjoy the pain assholes!
So this is a barbell press, as apposed to DB's for clarification? I won't be contributing to this one due to the inability to do overhead exercises due to a bummed shoulder, but good luck!
ive never done seated military presses with the barbell either. and my gym doesnt have a half high seat only fully high (as high as the top of your head). dont know how i can do this.
i do db press with the highback but i can lower the dbs beside my head. cannot lower barbell thru my head. and bringing the bar down infront of your face puts the weight out of perpendicular with your shoulder alignment if you dont lean your head back
Barbell yes and shitty for the no overhead movements. How do you work your shoulders?
Berz out.
Shoulders get worked with everything you do whether it be chest or back. Add some basic raises and they seem to be doing just fine. The doc says I may never be able to do heavy lifting over my head ever again.
For the same reason RRxstar posted. I think it would throw off your form when you try to bring the bar in front of your face?

oo ic ic so if dumbbells r used would it be half the weight your barbell pressing ex. berz would be doing 50 dbs instead of 100 barbell?
i find dumbbells to be easier since id only be doing 35s in that case (rounding down @ 148lbs) in comparison to 75lb barbell or maybe ill just try both lol Posted via RS Mobile
If you have a short chair that you can slightly arch your back and get your head out of the way so it's easier. DB's won't be a fair comparison I don't think just like with Bench it's one or the other. Hmm might have to change this one up a bit if not enough people wanna do it.
I guess DB's half bodyweight divided by 2 so for me it would be a 50lbs per hand?
