just a thanks for rrxxtar coming up with this, i love this idea little challenge every week sickkkkkkkkkkk

RRxtar 08-30-2011 08:58 PM

RRxtar 21 @ 180lbs. with a sprained wrist.

will giver a go again friday

we can come up with all kinds of different formulas and reasons why things arent fair to some people but the truth is, basing the challenges on bodyweight is as close to fair as i can think of. it is a direct representation of your strength vs your body. and the idea is to keep it simple and fun. you dont win an award for doing the best that week.

Thanks for posting even though you only got 4. Like I said I would be willing to bet that 90% of the population can't even bench their own bodyweight 1 time.

I'll be lucky to get past 4 as well I think...

Berz out.

i remember when i first hit bodyweight bench. it was a benchmark i thought id never get to when i first started. hell i remember the first time i benched a full 45lb plate a side. i thought that was pretty legit too.

was it watching me lift the weight and firmly slide it on the bar that did it for you?

:troll:

XplicitLuder 08-30-2011 09:50 PM

how badly torn is it? probably not the best idea to do anything that could eff it up big time

Shades 08-31-2011 09:51 AM

Are you using gloves when doing these challenges?

mkings 08-31-2011 10:46 AM

Damn, what should i be pushing? What's a good milestone so i know that my chest is strong enough.

115 for 8 reps.

RacePace 08-31-2011 10:50 AM

depends how much you weigh, how long you've been lifting, etc.

Fcukedd 08-31-2011 11:12 AM

"Strong enough" is very subjective. One may think pushing 135lb is strong, while someone else will think pushing 225lb is.
Set a goal for yourself, and not worry about what others are lifting.
Just continue your Stronglifts routine, and strength will come naturally.

AAnthony 08-31-2011 02:48 PM

AANTHONYY - 15 @ 175

looks like 15's my magic number...squats&wide grips were 15 too
...feeling very "evened out" right meow, not sure if that's good or bad.

I say anything above 250 is deecent, above 400 is advanced. When I first started @ the gym I was 135, within 2 months I was benching my bodyweight doing 5 sets of 5, hitting chest twice a week. I've always had so much strength benching, but I don't even have a chest to show for it :fuuuuu:

if I did this challenge a year ago it would have been waayyy higher. I had an epiphany a year into my training and realized "fuck benchpress!" moar squat, moar deadlift, moar pullup

I quit 5x5last week btw, just to get my shoulder healing and even out my body. gonna get back into it when school starts. I'm kinda in cutting-mode, eating lott cleaner than when i was doing 5x5.
