How do I check?

According to gsmarena all the radio bands are exactly identical...only difference between the 2 is the HD screen. So I'm assuming this phone can work on rogers? Also, is unlocking a phone from korea just as easily as say unlocking one from bell/telus to rogers?

if anyone can find photos comparsions from S II cam vs nexus cam please do post...i'm interested to see if the 5mp cam actually edge out the S II's 8mp one

They're not the same. Korean LTE is 800Mhz. Rogers LTE is 700Mhz.

If Samsung implements the same type of carrier lock method as the SII and S then it should be unlockable. Regardless it's pointless to get it because of the frequency difference.

The Galaxy Nexus' Super AMOLED display is a minus, not a Plus -- Engadget

i had high hopes for this screen.... more reason for me to stay with the gs2..

Pixel Density:

Galaxy Nexus: 316 ppi (or 268 ppi if accounting for PenTile)
Galaxy S II: 218 ppi
iPhone 4S: 326 ppi

And while we're looking at displays:

Contrast Ratio:

Galaxy Nexus: >100,000:1
Galaxy S II: >100,000:1 (Super AMOLED is basically infinite since black = true black)
iPhone 4S: 800:1

Response Rate:

Galaxy Nexus: 0.001 milliseconds
Galaxy S II: 0.001 milliseconds (Super AMOLED does not have switch from black to grey to white, it is just on or off)
iPhone 4S: >5 milliseconds (estimate based on top of the line IPS displays)

In short; iPhone 4 has pixel density, and that's only because the screen is so fucken small. In every other way, AMOLED is a much better experience. You can compare them side by side, and it'll be instantly noticeable. It's the reason why Sony went with AMOLED instead of IPS on the Vita. It is just an awesome display technology. And Apple will never have it because of all their litigation

source? So LTE band is different and the frequency for calls/texts are also different? Sorry i'm noob when it comes to phone imports.

I'm not surprised endgaget (pro apple front) is nitpicking on this phone. The article mentions how things are different microscopically...

at the end of the day, it's still a true HD resolution with an OS that's optimized for it. Like I said, unless they did a real world test on colour reproduction btwn SGGN, SGSII, IP4S...this really isn't a big deal to me.

You can use the phone here. Just not at LTE speeds. It is a Korea exclusive after all:

This should be the korean one: Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE - Full phone specifications - shows 800mhz for LTE

Rogers LTE should be 700mhz as that's the spectrum that was auctioned.

Son of a bitch. The SGS II HD LTE was supposed to be my next phone.

It edges out the SGN in about 5+ categories including processor, camera and battery life.

Now I'm wondering whether I should wait for an AT&T/North American version or just jump on the SGN. Thoughts?

Looks like the Galaxy Nexus is slated for release on Verizon on November 10th.

hmm i guess gsmarena isn't too accurate cause the rogers LTE version doesn't mention support for 700MHz frequency

Oh? Hmm I could be wrong then. There's not a whole lot of info on Rogers LTE freq.

Hopefully it'll come out around 550/600, similar to the nexus one and nexus s.

An unlocked 4S costs $650... That is with a much smaller, lower res screen, which makes up most of the price on these things.

I'd expect the retail to be at least as much as an iphone 4s.

Edit: Clove has it for $688 CAD so there ya go
