+1 for AOKP.
Awesome ROM. So customizable. Tried all the other 4.0.3 roms but keep coming back to this one.
I used Franco kernel with it for a while but I don't find it gives me better battery life even with the hotplugs for deactivating one of the cpus when sleeping.

(This is with the power saving option on and 3G off when screen is off)
Or sometimes the phone says its connected to the 3G network but you aren't actually "connected" and have to wait a good 2-3 minutes before you actually are?

I'm pretty sure it has little to do with the phone. If you want it to charge fast get the BlackBerry PlayBook High Capacity Wall Charger. It is rated at 1.8amp vs regular chargers that are under 1amp.

Are there any tweaks where you can make the volume button take pictures? Or one where if you tap the status bar, it'll jump u back to the top of the page?
I weighing the pros and cons of switching from an iPhone 4 to a Nexus but I can't decide.
There's good and bad to both phones ugh.

Yam is right, Camera Zoom does have the ability to customize your hardware buttons to be used for your camera as well as a voice-activation option so you can speak your commands. But, I found the interface to be pretty shitty and it was kinda simple compared to even the stock camera.
P.S: This ROM looks like it has potential. ULTIMATE customization! http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1414422 |

Well what do you need from your phone? Do you like to tinker with it and make it your own? Or do you just need it to work? IMO iPhone users tend to just need a phone that works. My buddy just switched from a Droid to an iPhone but he just needs it for a phone, he never customized his Droid Posted via RS Mobile |

I, personally do not like to tweak it too much but I have friends who have like lock-pattern lock screen, totally different looking interface and animations, etc.
I usually TRY to keep the amount of tweaks I have on a phone to a minimum as there are usually conflicting problems when you have too many.
Because I'm on the fence, 50/50 between the two phones, it's really the little things that sway me to either side.
iPhone pros:
- lock screen message previews and ability to unlock directly to that app
- BiteSMS is an awesome quick reply jailbreak app for messaging
- I might have to take a closer look at this, but I notice that the YouTube app on the iPhone has the best quality. even when compared to the mobile site on the same phone the sharpness differences is quite noticeable. Tried my friends Nexus and it doesn't seem as sharp despite being true HD.
- App store nuff said
- Can unlock DIRECTLY to the camera app even when there is a lock feature in place. ICS only lets you do this when you don't have a lock pattern.
- Take picture with volume button
- Tap status bat to jump to top
Galaxy Nexus pros:
- I LOVE the sharing feature on this phone and how you can share anything in any app to any other app. It doesn't have to be a native share feature like it is on the iPhone
- The YouTube app is much nicer. I use youtube on my phone a lot. Only thing that's missing is top comments.
- bigger screen mmmmmm
- widgets nuff said
- I use more google stuff than I do Apple.
- No shitty iTunes
How many of the iPhone pro's that I listed are on the android in terms of tweaks?

How many of the iPhone pro's that I listed are on the android in terms of tweaks? | Most of us have owned or still do own the iPhone 4. Mine has been jailbroken since Day 1 and I wouldn't have used this phone without the jailbreak. It's a must in my opinion but that all depends on the user's needs I guess. Keep in mind, I've had almost every iPhone (except for the iPhone 4s) and sometimes have owned multiple phones of the same model...They ALL became sluggish, slow and finicky when I started doing customizations.
And ALL those features are in Android...The only difference is you don't have to add repositories and codes to get these simple customizations and you don't sacrifice the phone's performance.

Because I know those features aren't available in the stock ICS.

* 3rd party app doesn't really count as it is a tweak that's not default on iphone but even so there are android equivalents that are the same. I've used both

*If you're saying it's better because of quantity that's not really much of a case now. However if you're comparing the interface I would say Google has come a long way and is pretty equivalent. | |
