I used to run revolution hd. it's basically completely stock with underlying patches and enhancements so functionally and appearance wise there's no difference.

The other roms just offer so much more in terms of customising. If you're ok with stock look and functionality then go for it.

That's the thing, I prefer the stock look, and this type of rom is right up my alley. I am just wondering if the 'underlying patches and enhancements' work well, or if anyone has had issues or whatever

I've used all the galaxy nexus versions all the way up to 6. Never had a any problems with them. Just got a little bored with things so I started flashing other roms. They also never really tell us exactly what things they do to their rom.

Yeah that's what I don't like about the rom community.. some of them are doing it for the betterment of the phone and community, others are bored kids trying to learn stuff.

For those whose interested:

Best buy mobile is doing a promotion starting today (for 1 week), Free Galaxy Nexus and $150 on new activations. You can get this with that pretty awesome $57 plan.

Get new Gnex, sell for ~$300. Combine with $150 GC = profit of $450. Enough for a Nexus 4.

Hmmmmmmm.................

Wow 4.2 is really smooth and fast. Maybe it's the fact the rom is odexed or the fact that I haven't run a stock rom in ages, but this is noticeably faster than any custom rom I've used in recent memory. Now if only a custom kernel will come out to change these damn colors for the screen...

So now that the Nexus 4 is out 4.2 AOSP code is now available for download. Stock users should be getting their 4.2 update pretty soon provided you've flashed to Yakju build so you get updates directly from Google.

*EdiT* For those that can't wait Bigxie has once again released his 4.2 Rooted/Deodexed build ripe for the flashing as of today.

Yes. Just flash this ROM overtop. It's the OTA so it has all the GAPPS included.

I'd do a wipe/factory reset before flashing this rom just to clear anything out

Where is this option? I'm in the middle of updating to 4.2 and wish I read that beforehand.

dunno yet, doing my backup right now. But I saw it listed when I updated the app

Edit: It's in the batch area (NOT in the menu- that only creates a zip with titanium and nothing else)

But I think I might wait a bit as people seem to be having issues. There are no kernels or recoveries that support the new multi user format... I dunno

Installed it at 8pm at 80% battery, by 11pm it was down to 59... Not sure what happened there.

Yeah I was at 50% by the end of the day. Pretty brutal! I was using it heavily though, reinstalling some stuff and setting up accounts. But still, it's bad when you don't play around with the governors and timings a bit.

you guys do realize after flashing a new rom, there will be a battery drain for the initial first few days right? That's like any new rom. The batterystats need to re-adjust iirc.
