[ROM][OTA/AOSP][GSM]Android 4.2 JOP40C: Rooted Busybox Deodexed/Odexed (11/20/12)

my complaint so far on the odexed is that it's hella laggy =\

Really I thought odexed would be faster since everything is all 'zipped up' and you should only use deodexed if you want to install skin mods, etc

i'm an android noob so i don't really know much. havent' tried deodexed yet, but so far i'm not enjoying 4.2... very laggy and i feel the battery is worse, although my usage is inconsistant

That should be correct. Odexed technically should be faster. I think revolution hd is Odexed for this reason.

I forgot how it looked on 4.1 now but I never noticed it looked glitchy before.
the entire screen/layout does rotate. didn't think this was a "bug" since the entire swipe preview etc probably needs to rotate to accommodate this anyway.

Has anyone switched between 4.2 roms? I know that switching back to 4.1.2 is messed-up at the moment due to the changes to how the phone partitions your files on the internal sd. However I'm not sure if there will be any problems while switching between 4.2 roms. I read that some people ended up with sdcard/0/0/0 with another 0 being added for every flash of a new rom, but the information hasn't been consistent.

You should be fine as long as you use the newest cwm or twrp that have both been updated to support 4.2

CWM 6.0.1.8+ or TWRP.

you will still get one /0 folder but that's supposed to be there.

From the Nexus series only the Nexus One and the Nexus 4 have Gorilla Glass. The others have curved glass which prevented them from using Gorilla Glass at the time.

I'm using a glass screen protector on top. Feels just like stock.

It doesn't have to be Corning Gorilla Glass to be scratch proof or scratch resistant. Just decent quality.

On my HTC I had for 2 years, the screen is pretty much the only thing that isn't scratched

Screen protectors never look as good as stock, it's impossible. But it might be worth it if the glass scratches really easily like this seems to

I actually looked into this a little bit when i found a hairline scratch on mine. Apparently theres an oleophobic coating on the glass and thats what scratches. Not the glass. But regardless it still scratches way too easy and ends up looking like shit

So that explains it. Ironically that coating is the main reason to not put a protector on it...

I really hate that I wasted $60 on this protector that I can't wait to rip off

Hey guys, I need help. I flashed Yakju 4.2 factory and now I can't connect to any network. I'm on mobilicity. Any ideas? I can see Mobolicity in my APN list but only "CDN Roaming", "302610", "302490", and "Telus" in the network list.

Googled your problem and came across this:
Can't connect to Mobilicty network - xda-developers

OP:

What I suggest is go to your dialer and hit *#*#4636#*#* which will take you to a test menu. Hit "Phone Information," scroll down, "Set preferred network type" to WCDMA.

Have you searched for an MP3 name to find out where it may have been hidden/moved to? Also, did you remember to change the setting on your phone to "mobile media device" or whatever it is that we're supposed to use instead of mass storage?
