They should get more than 7 days
I am not saying this just because they were driving expensive cars and mommy and daddy will pay for it.
200km 3pm during heavy traffic?!?!?!
I know people who get 7 days impounded for going 75km on a city road

If these guys are smart, they wouldn't say anything and get a good lawyer. I'm sure these guys have a shit load of money at their expense to get a team of lawyers to battle this.
You guys think that these guys having their cars impounded is going to make a difference in their lifestyle? They just take off back to their motherland, get another license and exchange it for a new BCDL or they just go party in another country for however long they get suspended for. Worst case scenario? They hire a driver or get their friends to take them to school/work/head out.
Best thing that can happen right now is if they hire a team of lawyers to fight this and set a precedence for the rest of us that has some brains not to speed in busy metropolitan areas and are "driving spiritedly" at midnight when no ones around by themselves in an isolated stretch of hwy. There is a time and place for everything, obviously they chose the wrong time and wrong place. For those of us that have some brains, I hope they set a precedence for the rest of us and with their disposable income, I'd hope that their fine is low.

Corporal Holly Marks says

"It's amazing to me that someone that young has that much of a powerful vehicle. And then driving it in a manner where so much injury could be caused to people. They were all traveling together. At one point you'd have two vehicles that would actually hang back, and they would hold back the rest of the traffic on the freeway, so that the vehicles ahead of them could take off in a race."

At least those mazda3's / civics were paid for by the owner and built with sweat, tears and hard earned money. A lot more respect from me for those owners.

I'll be really honest, since we all are. Ever since Pei Jing Zhang and his R8 appeared, he's given all R8's, IMO, a bad name. It's gotten to the point where I don't even consider an R8 a worthy spot any more because it reminds me of Pei Jing and his daddy's whip.
It was total BS how people accepted his stupid "apology" too. GTFO.

If the riots proved anything, these kids will get a slap on the wrist.
Those cars should be confiscated, sold at auction, and proceeds given to charities.
Is there a YouTube or vimeo of this? I can't watch it off the site on my iPhone. Posted via RS Mobile |
