Quite similar to what our levels were like for RS Epic Hockey night 1. | part 1 had better overall talent than part 2

My left butt's all sore from falling on it repeatedly from losing my edge at the evaluation. I don't know if anyone here went there but I was the guy who ran into the ref at full speed during a drill, then spend much of my time at the scrimmage losing my edges whenever I wasn't going straight- simply skating faster than I can control myself. Time to sharpen my skates, I guess. Couldn't handle the puck if my life depended on it, but hey, it's a start! |

Lower divisions are always packed with nubs with an odd player or 2 (out of say 13 - 15)that can carry the team.
As the divisions go higher, the ratio of good players vs. nub players reverses.

had my first game for ice604 last night. these 3x20min periods are weird. Having a ref is also strange. The game feels so much different from drop in games.

Of course they are much faster. Drop in is very casual and people don't try that hard.
I played a lot of drop in and it affected my league play a lot because I go too easy on people now.

Can't wait to play my first league game! Got assigned to Wolverine in the VACHL. I'll have to miss the first game to take care of some matters in San Francisco over the weekend, and the second game is on Sept 28th. I hope they have team practices.

Just work on your skating and puck handling.
What I see most noobs do is winding up and trying to learn how to do a big slap shot before they can skate or even do wrist shots.
This isn't mighty ducks.

is it just me or is there really no point in having icing calls if you play running time?
i mean even with 15 seconds left, once you ice the puck the game is pretty much done

Played my first game, we lost 5-0 and I got a nice puck mark on my stomach right under the chest protector's coverage. On the other hand, the other team finished their previous game having demolished another team 8-0 so they may be getting moved. Even then it still was a blast, I can only see it get better as I get better! |

We aren't off to a great start.... 1-1-0-1... most of the teams we have played seem like they never stepped off the ice, or played through the summer as a team. Where as the majority of our team hasn't played since last winter... There's only 5 teams in our teir so we are gonna have some pretty good rivalrys i think.

Oh wow, the opponent team was already moved up a division after our game. The league works fast to rebalance.
