Looking to get help with custom ROM HTC Desire I have a Telus HTC Desire. Android 2.3.5 Baseband 32.56.00 Kernel 2.6.38.4-defrost-bravo+trip@trip-laptop #882 Mod Unknown Build GINGERVillain 2.8 HTC Desire So basically everything was going well untill I wanted to try LeeDroid again. I followed the instructions on the XDA site and after d/l and running this .zip to prepare my memory card (i think) I could not install the LeeDroid ROM, it would hang no matter what I did and I had to revert back to the GINGERVillain. HOWEVER, now I cant install Market, cant use OTA downloads (Chrome to Phone), or update my ROM manager. At first I was ok with no market, then when I couldnt get Chrome to Phone to work I got a little upset and now that my ROM manager is useless Im pretty choked. SO! Is there anyone that this has happened to? If so can we maybe get together/chat and figure this out? If its as simple as wiping everything, reformatting and starting at square 1 I can do that, even though I'd rather not. Especially if there is a file or program I just need to delete. |
you cant apply this rom onto your existing rom.. Make sure your ClockworkMod Recovery meets mini requirements. Wipe data wipe cache wipe davlik format system (i always do this, even though most of the time there is no need) make sure all your drives are mounted, sometimes it goes into unmounted |
The thing with leedroid is that you have to use their ext3 patch. You have to use this patch, however this patch also fucks up any other non leedroid rom. Therefore in order to use another non leedroid rom you must reformat your card. This way your phone can then properly write onto your sd card enabling market, etc. PM me if you have anymore questions I also have a desire so yeah. |
