Yeah, castle is my all time favourite theme but ever since stocking up on grey bricks, I haven't had the time or space to build something substantial. :(

You'll see that most of my collection is packed away in boxes. I'm so envious of all your display space!

dont be too envious unless you like dusting hahaha the problem with displaying lego (or any collectibles) is keeping the dust off.

I have the 100-500.

Badhobz 02-16-2025 05:55 AM

…. Your penis is bigger then… :okay:

So I went out this morning at the crack of dawn like any self-respecting geezer would, and shot these birds in the rain. The new penis lens and my cheapie Canon R50 arent weather proof so I didn't stay out for very long.

Low light night performance is very very good thanks to the len's internal image stabilization. it also helps my shakey hands due to all the years of jerking off.

Shot this in my backyard, with the wind blowing at 400mm hand held. Not bad.

I hate fucking birds, I don't know why I got this lens if I don't like shooting birds.

https://i.postimg.cc/TYvfKy7f/IMG-2907.jpg
Here's a lame ass Duck. Like all the blondes nowadays, it kept running away from me. I do like the sharpness even hand held at pretty low light conditions 400mm

I mostly got this lens to shoot ratrolla and friends. I watched a video online that says lens compression really helps "flatten" the car and gives it a more heroic stance. Seems to work quite well! 100mm. I fucked up on the f stop and left it in f11 and thus no bokeh :(

Badhobz 02-16-2025 10:42 AM

threw the car photo into lightroom and added fake bokeh.

overall lightroom did an okay job, its just the passenger side rear roofline that's pretty pixelated and the driver side mirror that's not right.

Im sure there is a way to adjust it properly, but me kinda stupid and only played with that lens blur slider.

Badhobz 02-16-2025 11:16 AM

CivicBlues 02-16-2025 11:46 AM

Lonely Island medley from the snl50 anniversaries homecoming concert so good.

Just made this today and it's great and I figure the Venn diagram of cheapskates + pork chop lovers is big here so I'm sharing this. I was able to feed 4 adults with about $10 of pork shoulder and they all loved it - everyone kept saying how tender and flavourful the pork "chops" were.

Piece of cake to make (if you have a sous vide machine) and pork shoulder is dirt cheap (I paid $23 for a 7lb cut from Costco). I don't think I can go back to the dry centre cut chops anymore.

My Dyson V15 broke.

The dustbin seal on the back on the bin came off. I got around to try and put it back together today and noticed all the little clasps that hold on to the ring which sandwiches the seal has cracked. The bin base is also cracked.

2 year warranty though, time to bring it into the Dyson store.

Buying whole loins is a great way to save money. They are absurdly easy for people with no butchery skills to cut them and you end up having huge chops for like $3 a piece. You don't have to trim or clean them up at all.

Daaaamn.

What sous vide machine do you guys use and recommend?

BIC_BAWS 02-16-2025 07:00 PM

Machine anything works tbh. But get a good container and something that insulates heat well... don't wanna crack your counters..

Manic! 02-16-2025 07:39 PM

I use an Instapot it has a sous vide mode. Cost me $100 a few years back. Not all Instapots have that function.

I've had good experience with Anova. You can use a stock pot or anything capable of holding hot water.

I've considered doing that though my "beef" with loins is that they're too lean and make for crappy dry pork if I'm going for the classic pork chop. It works fine for fast fry style or stir fry style cooking though. The pork shoulder has so much more fat so a lot more fun to eat.

I don't think it really matters that much - Wirecutter has the Monoprice one as their basic pick and the Joule Turbo as the fancy pick. I have an original, Kickstarter era Anova (red!). I'd say that if you think you'll be doing big (like 10-15lbs) meats then you'll want something with a bit more power (like 1100 watts) so it can keep the water warm enough but otherwise it's all the same.

If you are that kind of maniac then you'll probably want to take a Coleman stacker cooler and make it a big sous vide cooler (https://anovaculinary.com/en-ca/blog...ThQNp_lQjKlKJK). I just use a 12 quart Rubbermaid instead and use plastic wrap on top to keep the steam in.

That’s why you buy Dyson from Costco. They blow up so often that I don’t even think about it.

68style 02-17-2025 06:35 AM

I just buy Dyson copies off Amazon, zero problems in 4+ years lol

Badhobz 02-17-2025 07:06 AM
