Apparently, there was an open bottle of pills. 1 out of 3 doggies died, 2 were found alive running around the house.
Gene was 95 and wife was 65 ... that is something to kinda go ... hmmm over. Rich man dating 30 yrs younger woman. They were married for 34 yrs which means he was 61 and she was 31 when they got married.
And at 95, I mean, you're about to go anytime. Not sure about the 'can't live without him' theory maybe more like, 'finally!'.

A theory that makes sense to me is that he died first and she couldn't take it and just took the pills to join him. One of the dogs ate some pills and joined them too
Sad story either way, of one of the greatest Hollywood actors in history and his wife who I assume they loved each other.
Unless it's as you say, she couldn't wait for him to die so she could kill herself. Instead of divorcing him some time over the last 3 decades.
That doesn't make sense either. She found him dead in the mud room and she took a bunch of pills without even bothering to call an ambulance or move him? More likely she took a bunch of pills and Gene in a rush to get help somehow collapsed and died while trying to leave the house.
Anybody else experiencing allergy symptoms? I’m starting to get itchy eyes and a runny nose and it’s not even March yet…

Yup, le wifey and the kid started having them since the last 2 or 3 days.
Calendar-wise, we aren't really in March yet. But we had such a warm December that buds and new shoots had already started coming out back then. And now that the cold spell is over, I think it has been over 10ºC during the day?

So I went to test out the 992.2 yesterday with dark0821144223 and I gotta say. That car really…. REALLY ain’t worth the money. For a base model car with just a few lousy options to hit 180k Msrp is eye watering.
Looks:
It’s a beetle. Nothing special. Looks like every beetle before it.
Interior:
It’s okay, materials are average but coming from the ratrolla it’s hard to swallow all this cheap looking plastics. The center console is a joke. There is a single cup holder and you have to remove it to make it into a phone slot. Otherwise your phone and wallet will have to remain in your pockets or the glove box. Very little interior storage.
That parcel shelf behind is also a joke.
Backseat is hilarious. I had to try it. My head was completely cocked to one side and the poor little sales girl in front barely had space. If anyone buys a 911, try the backseat. The seat cushion was so paper thin that in an 10 minute ride my ass fell asleep.
Also the road noise and interior noise is unbearable. This is not something you can remotely drive on the highway. You’ll go fucking deaf in 20 minutes. If you try taking this on the i5 you’ll probably get iPhone alerts saying you’re exceeding decibel recommendations.
Performance:
Steering was kind of a let down. Wayyy too light. It was however very precise but still no steering feel. I would say my shitbox in sport mode has a heavier feel, and I was already in sport plus mode too. The girl said I needed to buy a sport steering plus package that would make it heavier and more feel (this is a must have)
Suspension: harsh but controlled. Went over some bumpy ass roads and even though I can feel every single bump, it was well muted. The seats themselves don’t have much cushioning so it goes up your spine. The insane road noise is more present than anything though.
Handling: just a short run so I couldn’t really give it a full run down but it feels like a gr86 with more power. The ass doesn’t fly around anymore. It’s not twitchy. It’s very easy to drive. The closest feeling would be a like a CTR with more power.
Engine: corse. Unrefined. Sounds like shit. A tad bit laggy too but not bad. Sports exhaust made sure we were all deaf by the end of the test drive. At 3k rpm up to 7200rpm redline it was just loud as fuck without sounding good. Maybe it wasn’t even that loud outside but inside the cabin it was brutal.
Verdict: there’s no “luxury” at all in this car. It’s way too fast with Zero chill. Besides all the douche factor of owning a 911, the car itself is really quite torturous if you wanna just drive it normally. Yes it’ll be great in a backroad but at 200k after taxes it god damn better be. It’s way too much performance and savage as a city car. They’ve tuned out all the 911ness of the old generations and it’s basically a buttoned down gr86 now.
It’s not bad. I must say. It’s just not for me. I don’t need something that loud and deafening everytime I wanna go for a drive.

I echo a lot of the same feelings about it when I test drove a 991.1 4S. The car is very capable, the chassis can handle a lot more power and still not be phased. It didn't feel lacking despite only 380hp. I was half looking for a GTS, the friend who let me take the 4S out for an extended jaunt in the city told me that the GTS probably won't change much, I'd have to go to a GT3 to really feel a difference.
I do not fit behind myself in a 992.1 Turbo that I tried in the show room. The front seat doesn't even click into place if I'm sitting in the back.
The difference is I don't find it loud. The M3 is quite loud and in comparison the 4S was quieter, road noise is bad with my 200TW tires. The main takeaway if you drive my M3 on the highway is, that's a lot of tire noise and it's much louder than my exhaust.

you gotta try the sport exhaust on the 992.2.
The engine/exhaust sounds like a sink garbage disposal with a fork stuck in it. Now turn that volume up to 80 decibels and there you go.
I don't know why anyone would want 9000rpms of that horrendous sound. anything from 3000-7000rpm already is deafening and not in a good way.
v8 or v10 or v12 only. If I wanted to be deaf, ill find something more sonorous than a lousy flat 6

Porsches never sounded amazing imo. I don't get why ppl get their panties in a bunch over it. There are a few models with the right combo of exhaust sounds decent. Then there's the current gen RS cars which actually DOES sound good, but you are paying a huge premium for it.
The problem isn't really endemic to Porsche, it's across all the current cars as the proliferation of turbos and particulate filters really choke out the exhaust. We are still making good power but all the cars sound like wet farts. Audis are in particular guilty of this.
Then the second problem is aftermarket exhausts. No one is actually engineering them to sound good anymore, all they are doing is trying to make the most power and for others (looking at you FIR) aiming to make the loudest possible exhaust.
My M3 sounds terrible stock at all ranges. Now it only sounds terrible at part throttle after I made changes.
The back seat is pretty much decoration or under 5 year old kids.
Try a manual transmission 911 or the turbo S if they let you.
It's loud yes, but to some it's better than the car being so quiet that they have to pump in artificial engine sounds.
Come on, man. Everybody knows the backseats in the 911 is for show. They are there for lower tax credit or some shxt in Europe bcos it is marketed as a 4-seater.
The Sports Steering Plus thing sounds gimmicky to me. At low speed, it is supposed to alter the steering ratio as well as provide additional (power-assisted) steering so that the wheels turn faster, and makes it easier for parking. And then at high speed, it provides less power assistance so that the steering firms up. So overall, I don't actually know whether it'll make the steering feel better (compared to the standard setup) unless you are driving at higher speeds. Also, it is only supposed to be a software level toggle that enables or disables the feature. I am not 100% certain about this, but I seem to think that if you have access to one of those 3rd party Porsche diagnostics system, you'd be able to change the setting through that yourself.
Having driven several different generations and trims of 911, I'd say their steering feel do tend to feel a bit light. I suppose that is a function of not really having any weight over the front axle, together with front tires that aren't super wide.
For suspension / ride comfort, do you remember what kind of tires the car was running on? More specifically, the wheel size and aspect ratio of the tires would be the crucial factors here. The base car already comes with 235/40/19 and 295/35/20 tires, so there isn't a heck of a lot of sidewall to cushion the ride to begin with. But more than likely, the dealership has probably chosen the +1 wheel "upgrade", so the car is riding on 245/30/20 and 305/30/21 (or 315/30/21) tires. With that little rubber in the sidewalls, PASM is already doing a crazy good job of dampening all the harshness out of the bumps.

The old NA flat 6 generally have a very characteristic engine note that is specific to Porsche, and the 981 (Cayman/Boxster)'s engine sounds downright orgasmic in the high rpm range. But with Porsche switching most of their engines to become turbo-charged units, the turbo engines don't sound nearly as good as the old engines anymore.
And interestingly, according to other Porsche owners, even though the current gen Cayman has a 4.0L NA flat 6 option available, that engine doesn't sound as good as the older 3.4L and 3.8L flat 6 found in the 981 generation. I've only heard of the sound clips over the Internet, so I can't say my impressions here are all that accurate, but I'd tend to agree with the comment as well.
I had the opportunity to ride along inside a 992.1 GT3 Touring at Mission last year, and that 4.0L NA flat 6 sounds out of this world at the track. Of course, I'll need to take on a second mortage that I probably wouldn't qualify for if I ever wanted to buy that GT3 Touring, so there is zero chance that I'll be able to experience that car first hand LOL~

I don’t get how a flat 6 can ever sound good. It just doesn’t have the wail or depth that a v8 or higher cylinder count can achieve.
you should hear my rover v8 run without the exhaust manifold
