Organizers of the Vancouver International Auto Show say the event broke attendance records after it attracted international headlines for banning Tesla on safety grounds.
Supporters of the electric car company and CEO Elon Musk had called for a boycott of the show, but organizers say it instead set a new five-day attendance record of more than 138,000.
They say in a news release that Saturday’s attendance of more than 42,000 at the Vancouver Convention Centre also broke the one-day attendance record.
Surprised at the attendance but I hope more attendance leads to more companies attending.
Everyone I knew that went to the auto show either had free tickets, or had some sort of discounted tickets. Usually (among the people I know that paid) had 1/2 price tickets.

Fucking hell…….. never mind aluminum pie plates in the wind. The fucking woodpecker is back. It picked (pecked) an exhaust pipe or something. The sound is resonating throughout the house. Time to get out the pellet gun. Last year it was a huge murder of crows. I live next to a park. The sounds of crickets, animals getting chased, killed, raped, making out, is too much, sometimes. I miss living in the DTES. Sirens, yelling, fighting, heavy traffic, Harley’s. That’s music to my ears. None of this nature shit.

The previous owners of my house took their flicker box with them when they moved... now those fuckers are back with the warm weather and looking for their house... they're sitting on my roof and hitting the metal pipe tops sounds like a machine gun in the house makes the dogs bark lol
I just go down to the basement and bang on the pipes and it scares them off and they don't come back for awhile or I see them on adjactent houses doing the same thing to those ones
The sound of the woodpecker pecking away at the top of my furnace vent is how I know for sure that spring has arrived. It has been like this for the past 5 - 6 years now.
At first, I just try to make noise on the balcony, and they usually go away. After a while, they figured out there was no threat to my yelling and such, so it didn't work anymore.
I have since racheted it up a notch, and bought a shotgun style, hand pump Super Soaker to squirt water at them whenever they do the banging thing. It is totally working wonders. The bird doesn't get harmed, and I don't have the banging anymore.
I've always wondered though -- how much damage can they really do to a the aluminum sheet that is used for those furance exhaust vents?

before we did a reno and replaced our wooden garage doors, a woodpecker was pecking away at them and making holes the size of shotgun slugs. luckily we intended to replace them anyway, but man was it annoying that one bird can do so much damage to your house! i considered choosing violence with a bb gun. if it returns and pecks at other parts of my house i probably wouldnt hesitate. they are pretty aware of their surroundings so even if you come within view of them like going around the corner of your house, they will fly off. im surprised you were able to get close enough to use a water gun
Well, I'm only standing on my balcony, and the woodpecker is standing at the top of my furnace exhaust pipe. The pipe itself is in the middle of the house, so I am not only some distance away from the bird itself; I am also a solid 2m or so below him.
I expect the woodpecker to know I'm there on the balcony by the time I'm there. But I suppose they figure I wasn't enough of a threat being that far away and below, which is why my yelling and banging couldn't deter them.

It's crazy to me that the "disposal" of old vessels is allowed like this. The owner should have been charged millions to leave that trash floating in the waters for the past FORTY years.

I never really listened to Joe way back FOR Joe, I listened for the interviews much like I used to listen to Jim Rome for ages who frankly is almost unbearable on his own, but he’s a masterful interviewer.
Right before Joe went to Spotify when he had Kanye on that was kind of the last straw for me and I stopped listening.
All his “regulars” like Joey Diaz, Bert, etc. they were all pretty annoying and you could see Joe surrounded himself with people he thought were like “down to earth” guys but they were all fucking knobs. Then they very clearly started spinning these bullshit stories, many which would later be called out or proven wrong, and I was out.
Anyone with half a brain could tell it was moving in this direction of, at the very least, purposeful exaggeration, which I caught on to right away and turned it off.
Now he thinks he’s like extra smart because him and Elon are bum buddies? lol ok

I can't stand podcasts like this in general. I've done enough coke back in the day to know what it's like to sit around a table and say absolutely retarded shit for 3 hours while simultaneously thinking it's genius. I don't need to listen to other assholes do it.

i used to listen to joe back in the day... back when joey and brian were there and the podcast was just starting to take off. i even went to see him at the icehouse in pasadena and he was just then acknowledging that a lot of the crowd was there from the podcasts. his standup sucked, i guess i was just hoping it would be more like his normal podcast personality on stage. he did have a lot of good guests back then and didnt have strong political biases and really any super strong opinions he was militant about. money changes people. now he mostly gives platforms to conspiracy nuts and right wingers. the guy was once the biggest bernie supporter and then he goes and endorses trump? lol
