^try CAA? If you have a Platinum Visa you should be covered for travel insurance, I know the TD infinite covers around 8 days for travel insurance for just having the card. Check your Visa/mastercard.
Anyone know of a good image uploader?
I use photobucket, but they resize the image to a tiny thumbnail and when I post pictures they are too small to see.
Sonick is a genius. I won't go into detail what's so great about his post. But it's damn good!

does anyone know how to sell Rogers "e-tickets" for concerts that get sent SMS to your phone? I don't think I can make it to the deadmau5 concert on the 26th, but my "ticket" is on a friend's phone...
For anyone who likes or wants some instant coffee: Starbucks (today only) has a buy one get one free on their VIA instant coffee Christmas blend. It's black coffee, makes about a tall size, and tastes damn good. It works out to about fifty cents a cup now that it's on sale, which makes it a great deal. I picked up 4 packs.
so i bought something online and the tracking status showing for it on canadapost is
2012/12/09 19:50 International item has left the origin country and is en route to Canada
It's been 5 business days now, and there still hasn't been any updates. Shouldn't it only take like 1-2 business days, tops, for it to get to Canada? Has this happened to anyone else before?

Depends on the country of origin and the method of shipping. Deep breaths.

Once it reaches Canada, it can take up to two weeks to get your package. It's held at customs. I order a lot of electronics parts from HK and China. Sometimes items arrive within a few days of placing order, while others take a long time. As for updates, there are usually none, even after item has been delivered - at least I don't check anymore. It used to be very frustrating, but I got used to it, LOL.
The stuff I get from China/HK comes with free shipping and I've never had one go missing - tracking or not. Again, it's not the time it takes to get here, it's the extra time it takes to get past customs. Then there's Canada Post..... nuff said.

it's from singapore, and supposedly it's Xpresspost. i'm assuming they would have shipped it directly to somewhere in Canada, with no stops in between, so I was thinking that it would show that it's at least in Canada by now..

yeah i was thinking it might be in customs, but every time i've ordered something internationally, and it's shipped through canada post, they've updated the tracking to show that it's arrived in Canada and is in customs.
Hopefully it is in Canada by now, and they just didn't update the status lol

Keep in mind that just because something's been assigned a tracking number doesn't mean it's actually been shipped. When I get stuff sent from DX, it can sometimes be up to a full week after I get the tracking number for it to list as shipped. In order to save on shipping, many companies will only do full-load ships; they'll buy bulk rather than sending it piece by piece.
Yeah, the status on the 5th was originally just "INFORMATION RECEIVED" on the SingPost site and it wasn't until the 9th that it changed to "Despatched to overseas (Country code: CA)" and that's when it was registered with Canada post and I was able to check for the status on their site.
but anyway, i'll just wait it out for another week or two before i'll start to worry. I was just a bit confused because usually when I see that it's been dispatched, it normally shows that it's arrived in Canada a day or two later and it's getting reviewed by customs
