So how does somone go about buying a new bed? I've been using the same bed for 5-6 years now and I'm thinking its a reason for my back pain

I'm thinking I prefer a harder bed and would like to get a king but I'm not sure where to start? Do salesman actually know anything?

Go to Sleep Country and take your time. Salesmen may provide info on bed materials and offer suggestions on ones that may work for you.

When I went the guy noticed I have broad shoulders, so recommended a medium firmness mattress but with a pillow top so has more 'give' to relieve pressure on shoulders but also have enough support for the rest of the body.

Also I found them very low-pressure so it was nice to really take your time and go back and forth between mattresses.

lay down in the beds and get comfy. I would go to different places to see different opinions since not every person knows what they are talking about.

Bad back? Try foam mattress. If you have any allergies, natural foam is the best. Very expensive, but worth every penny.

Healthier all around. No insects (bed bugs, microscopic critters, etc.), and most important of all, no off gassing.

I couldn't afford the best 100% pure natural foam mattress, so settled for a blend.

Must research, though, because there are a lot of shysters out there. If you find a cheap 100% natural foam mattress, it's most likely not the real thing.

Latex Mattress Vancouver - Organic Mattresses - Memory Foam Vancouver

One of the more reputable companies out there.

When you spend close to a third of your entire life sleeping, it's important to get something that is comfortable. Spend a minimum of 15 minutes in a bed to get a feel of how it conforms to your body. If you have significant other, bring that person along, as well.

Natural foam is actually what I have right now, I like it but I find my issues with back pain seem to flare up when in certain positions so I'm not sure if its the bed or me

Edit though on closer inspection mine is provably a cheap obe

Try firmer mattress. Saleslady at the place I mentioned is pretty knowledgeable. Spend lots of time there and try out their firm mattresses.

I second sleep-country - for a "big box" store, their service is actually quite good, low pressure as mentioned, and they are surprisingly quite knowledgeable.

They also have payment plans w/ no interest if you're into that thing.

Bought the firmest mattress they had 2 years ago or so and no complaints with the experience of the mattress itself.

Lol, funny guy;

Google exec proves his identity on car forum in most hilarious way possible

Benjamin Sloss Treynor is the Vice President of Engineering at Google. He's smart. He's rich. And he loves cars.

He's also very active on car forums, where he has garnered equal amounts of reverence for and doubt of his wealth. So when a forum member asked him to prove he owns a Raptor, a 458 Italia, and a McLaren 12C Spyder by taking pictures of them with pieces of bread, Treynor was more than happy to oblige.

We were told the Treynor has been called into question in the past, and has responded by posting a picture of his kid holding a sign that has the name of the SVT Performance forum where he posts under the username Treynor. Ford_racer's call for proof by putting bread in the photos was more of a joke than serious.

http://l.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/i9c...jpg_213153.jpg

hankfully, Treynor has a sense of humor about himself and complied to the request... and then some.

On his Ford Raptor, he out a nice hearty loaf of New York Rye Bread.

http://l2.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/Ct...jpg_213153.jpg

On the Ferrari 458, he went Italian bread to complement the Italian leather.

http://l1.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/xs...jpg_213153.jpg

And finally, on the McLaren 12C Spyder, nothing goes with an English car like English crumpets.

http://l3.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/KL...jpg_213153.jpg

This is so much win in so many ways. First, Treynor has awesome taste in cars. Secondly, he obviously has a sense of humor about himself because he's posting pictures of bread on supercars. More evidence of that humor is available in his Google+ profile picture.

Treynor is also the same Google exec who won the auction for a Ferrari 599XX Evo that was being sold to benefit victims of the Italian earthquake.

Haha I like how he puts a napkin under the rye bread on his Ford, and what appears to be a newspaper under the italian bread on his Ferrari.
