are there any pros and cons for swapping in a manual transmission to an automatic? will it ever run the same as an original manual transmission vehicle?

RIP to that passenger...did anyone notice the light pole leaning compared to the other ones? holy shit...

edit: oops, didn't read above post properly.

now my turn...
i got a parking ticket back in august 2012 in seattle for parking in front of a fire hydrant. i didn't notice it because they paint it green and i'm used to vancouver's bright ass red color for hydrants. now i forgot about it and was wondering if anyone knows of their late penalties? I've heard of $25 after 21 days and another $35 after 50 days. Can anyone confirm? Is there any reason i shouldn't pay this? I'm heading there on Tuesday, any precautions I should take?

^I'm pretty sure he meant putting in a manual tranny into an auto car. There's really no "con", except for the massive amount of part sourcing and work you have to do. Most agree its cheaper and better to get rid of your car and buy a manual counterpart. Very common on Accords, because the V6 accords never came with a manual in older generations.

As for your ticket, you really should be looking at whomever issued you the ticket. I'm sure there is a penalty, and pay it off before you head down, go with your receipt/proof of payment.

woops. i read his post backwards. as for my ticket, it's the city of seattle. I've looked around online for a while to no avail asides from "there is a penalty". i just wanted to know what that entails. guess i'll just give them a call.

The driver should be charged with vehicular manslaughter.

It's old news now, but some may have missed it. Geroy Simon, aka Superman, is now a Roughrider of the green variety.

Anyone know what the appropriate amount to give a couple for a wedding is?
They aren't registered and I would rather give them money anyway since I'm sure most couples prefer cash.

I've never given money before and my parents say always give at least the amount you think they paid for you to be there.

So would $150 be appropriate? or is that not enough?

StylinRed 01-29-2013 02:40 PM

asian wedding/white wedding/ ____ wedding?

family/friend/__ ?

close/acquaintance/ ___ ?

etc...

150 should be fine anyhow

if you're unsure just buy something the couple would have use of regardless if theres a registry or not

TheKingdom2000 01-29-2013 02:43 PM

White wedding.
Best friends sister.

I'm thinking now that $150 might be a little low?
I think $200 might be better

StylinRed 01-29-2013 02:47 PM

no, even $100 is good

just do some googling and see

hell some suggest the double digits only

the mean seems to be 150

buy em an apple tv and call it a day :)

Fafine 01-29-2013 03:18 PM

if its your best friend's sister then 200 would be more appropriate

Hehe 01-29-2013 07:34 PM

I always thought for Asian (well, I'm a Taiwanese so I probably can't speak for the general Chinese) weddings, it's a gesture to give something that ends in 6 or 8. I usually go 88 (if I'm not attending, usually acquaintance not close enough), 166/188 if I go, and 266/288+ if I'm close.
