Warning: coolstorybro story.

People who drive through Sea Island may have noticed they recently re-paved Russ Baker Way for the stretch from Miller Road to Gilbert. People who commute regularly also may or may not have have noticed they changed their lane setup going Northbound after re-painting.

I definitely noticed this coz it was far more inefficient, causing unnecessary lane changes than the set up before and causing congestion for my commute to work. So I decide to email city engineering wtf they were thinking...

It turns out that I had discovered the city had made a mistake re-painting the lanes :seriously:

So yeah, they're going to eventually re-paint the lanes to the original setup :fuckyea:

Here was the old vs new lane setup if anybody's curious:

At least that way, she teaches him a lesson and gets some money back.

I was driving down bridgeport RD bridge off ramp towards Vancouver today. Some construction nut jobs moved a concrete barrier on to the double right turn lane right before the russ baker/miller intesection. The inside lane was blocked completely :lawl:, so glad I took that at around 11ish and not 830 in the morning.

So i checked my shaw bill today, over $100 for the basic internet, and basic cable. Anyone have any ideas to what company i can switch to? These prices are so fucking outrageous.

sonick 10-03-2013 08:58 AM

Telus. There's an offer where new customers get TV and Internet for $30 + tax for 6 months.

melloman 10-03-2013 09:04 AM

^^ My grandma's Telus has gone done 7 times in the last year..

Make sure your in a very good service area. She clearly isn't.

God damn cable company........... my PVR has lost its scheduling and all settings. I have to reboot and start all over. Unless, the problem is on their end. I hope it's them and not my PVR dying. Anyone else have this issue? I had my favourite programs scheduled to record and now they are wiped out.

Error message on screen says, "This feature is temporarily unavailable"....... something like that. The channels work and all.

punkwax 10-03-2013 10:52 AM

Sounds like your PVR is dying.. I just replaced mine last week. (for different reason)

MG1 10-03-2013 11:13 AM

^thanks......... I have to record stuff for my mom, as she's a big NHK fan.

fishCak3s 10-03-2013 11:39 AM

I'm with Shaw and I've had similiar message popping out while also saying it's currently in offline mode. Another message usually pops up after a little while saying the system is back online and my PVR list is still intact. Not sure what the problem is though.

MG1 10-03-2013 12:05 PM

I'll call home and see if the problem still exists. It started last night and was still misbehavin' this morning.

MG1 10-03-2013 12:53 PM

Called home and it's working again. Damn that Shaw. WTF? I pay good money for service that sucks ass. The alternative is not much better........... oh well.

fishCak3s 10-03-2013 01:02 PM

My PVR acts weird from time to time but I just leave it. I think I'll let my friend who works at Shaw know, he's pretty good.

Anyone know the details on the restaurant that is open/opening in the old Lester's on Kingsway?

inv4zn 10-03-2013 08:50 PM

^Last I drove by, it was some hybrid hotpot/karaoke place, that looked shady as fuck. I think it was called O'Point.

Have no idea if any of it is still open though.

Let me guess this is Shaw's Motorola DCX3510 PVR? These units are a disaster, so many people have been having issues with them, time to upgrade to a better unit.

I think it's the same one that used to occupy the whole building. But now they have some kind of chinese restaurant for half of the building and hybrid hot pot/bbq for the lester half of the building.

Yup.

A private plane had its landing gear malfunction. The pilot performed a belly landing on the airport runway, and walked away without injury. Pretty minor.

ah. good thing they still take pilot training seriously, so he knew what to do.... I wish we had better driver training, may end up with less retards on the road
