Ended up with a scratch on my laptop screen, about an one and a half inches long. Can anyone recommend a way of fixing it?

I've found a few methods including: using a soft eraser; using rubbing alcohol; and filling it with some Vaseline.

Immigrants failing to assimilate means more racism: Oppal | News1130
Quote:

“By failing to assimilate and by living in ethnic ghettos and ethnic enclaves, immigrants do a disservice to themselves and that is often a cause of racism,” says Wally Oppal. “It becomes offensive to other people, moreover, if you don’t assimilate people don’t get to know you. It’s ignorance and the lack of knowledge in particular communities that breeds racism.”

SpeedStars 10-17-2013 05:19 PM

^ just saying that is partially true. Living in a polar ethnic community, I've also received my fair share of racial slurs (even though both me and the other party are of Asian background) :derp:

Anything to look out for when buying a PS3 on CL?

The seller sent me pics of the system working with the correct time and everything but is there a way i can test the system out first? Theyre insisting we meet at a skytrain station.

SpeedStars 10-18-2013 07:04 PM

Without a power outlet and a video jack, you can't really test it...There usually is nothing wrong with PS3s other than hard drive corruption (which it will show a yellow light). I've had mine since early 2008 with no probs.

ilovebacon 10-19-2013 12:35 AM

^ meet him at his place and test it out. its reasonable for him to let you into his house cause you are purchasing his console.

StylinRed 10-19-2013 03:03 AM

meet at a library or school campus or his house? (there are outlets/screens all over the place to use)

GLOW 10-19-2013 08:52 AM

if i can't test it properly i wouldn't be interested in buying

If the seller is serious and nothing wrong with the TV, he would prove in person that its working... dont be a sucker and buy something that may or may not work...

Yup it was the time in the UI which the time was within 3 minutes of them sending it.

They seem pretty trustworthy, saying they could come to my house and let me test it first.

Said they took a video if it playing and would show me.

Edit: gonna find a store in metrotown and beg them to let me test it on their tv lol

Vancouver police arrest man at gas station and uncover ?gasoline scheme?

Quote:

After a man was arrested with a large amount of gasoline and phoney credit cards at a Vancouver gas station Tuesday afternoon, police are recommending charges for his alleged involvement in what they called a “gasoline scheme.”

Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m., police responded to a suspicious call at Petro Canada at 41st Avenue and Oak Street after receiving reports that a van was being “filled with a disproportionate amount of gasoline.”

“When police arrived the driver of the van was taken into custody and determined to be in possession of a number of what was believed to be fraudulently obtained credit cards,” said VPD spokesman Sgt. Randy Fincham in an email.

Witnesses on the scene Tuesday afternoon reported seeing a white panel van with large white gas tanks in the back.

The arrest comes two weeks after another white van burst into flames and explosions, only blocks away on Oak Street. That van became engulfed in large flames after crashing into a concrete wall near 54th Avenue and Oak Street on Oct. 7.
