I would suggest you try to stay rather than setting your mind in moving back. Start your apprenticeship, see what it is like, chances are there will be some compassionate co workers and tough it out.

Simply because of the shortage of trades, you don't only earn more but you advance quicker in Calgary.

Factor in poor transportation and everything else...

I could probably start one in Vancouver. Probably be making 12-13 an hour though compared to the 20 for a preapprenticeship here.

At least transportation isn't ass and I don't have to pay rent in Vancouver.

I'm either homeless or Vancouver. I don't own a vehicle to sleep in and I'm forced to leave my place.

I'm really really really upset about the situation. It's my own fault for letting it get to this point, and I want to remain optimistic but this is blow after blow after blow.

Literally fuck my life. Fuck EI, for taking over 2 months to get a claim, fuck the fact that girls in Vancouver are stuck up pieces of shit, fuck the fact that it rains 24/7 in Vancouver, fuck the fact that it's impossible to do any type of job in Calgary without a vehicle, fuck my shitty attitude, my shitty spending habits, my shitty brain.

I feel ya Meowjin, I put myself in a crummy position as well.
But always have to look at the brighter side. It's amazing how fast things can change for the better.

And you were not kidding. There isn't much rentals in Calgary.

For those of you looking for places to recycle styrofoam:

The recycling depot in Burnaby (Still Creek) apparently takes styrofoam now! I'm not aware of any other place in the GVRD that did, so this was (great) news to me.

Spectre_Cdn 01-10-2014 02:57 PM

^ The City of Richmond's Recycling Depot also takes styrofoam.

m3thods 01-10-2014 03:02 PM

^Good to know, thanks!

I remember searching a year or two back because I bought a bunch of electronics. The only hit was London Drugs, and that's only if you bought the items from them.

It's great to see the GVRD accepting more in their recycling programs. I'm not a super hippy, but it was frustrating to have to throw syrofoam in with regular garbage and run out of space before pickup lol

The GVRD has nothing to do with styrofoam recycling, that is strictly done n a volunteer basis from cities or private sector. Many recycling depots accept styrofoam, and soon many Encorp locations may as well.

just my clique in van was shit. Viet girls with fake tits. Here there are tons of DTE white girls.

I've honestly met like 9 girls here that I talk to on a regular basis here and thats more than I've had in Vancouver in the last 4 years.

Also no Idea why, but my okcupid profile has literally been getting 10 messeges a day from different girls. Hahaha lets see If I can land anything before I move.

My mistake. I didn't mean GVRD with respect to the managing body. I meant the greater Vancouver area.

Awesome news!

I wish we could put it in our blue bin though.

They started it last year as a pilot project. For years, they used to do styrofoam and XMas wrapping paper, but only during the Xmas holidays.

I don't do the blue box thing anymore. In fact, since I moved to Burnaby, I've been taking the shit myself to Still Creek once every two weeks. I love going there to see the stupid things people do. Why pay to go see a circus when you can see clowns doing their shit for free. The shit some people try to pull.

They also take batteries, old expired propane tanks, paint, appliances, etc.

How's Abbotsford's recycling these days? They used to be the worst municipality for recycling in the Lower Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland. The Ozarks of BC when it came to recycling. Don't know where their tax dollars go......... oh wait...... it goes into their hockey team. LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Just wondering if I'm getting raped here...a shop's charging me $360 to replace the oil pressure starter and oil filter housing gasket, would that be a reasonable price?

:heckno:

Nothing at a shop would be a "reasonable price".

Just wondering, why do people block out/cover license plates when they post their cars for sale on the internet or just post pics of cars online?
Just watching too much TV thinking that someone can take their license plate and find out where they live? Steal their car? Their identity?
Everyone sees their license plate on the street when they drive the car, so what's the big deal about posting a picture of it?

Looking to replace all the windows in my house along with some patio doors. Any one have any recommendations?

Whenever I get near any window, it's just deathly cold.
