My main issue is that wtf did the US think it was a good idea to provide Iraq with uranium for research in the first place given the lack of security in the are and their irrational fears that their neighbours would attain any level of uranium at all

"Some experts say could" =/= expected to be used for. The amount of uranium has also changed in that article, what we need to know is how much of which kinds of uranium they had. Since there were previously concerns about Iraq creating nuclear weapons it's unlikely they were given weapons grade uranium, more likely they were given reactor grade uranium which is completely different.

Also every article I've read from vice "news" has been just as full of bullshit as the major outlets, just from the opposite direction.

edit: I chuckled when the link for the article you posted comes up titled as "Cookies must be enabled"

i wasnt quoting the article just linked the first one from google all the news outlets were saying that they expected a dirty bomb to be made although after updates they are now saying they don't think the amounts and types of uranium are dirty bomb worthy UPDATE 4-Seized nuclear material in Iraq low grade - UN agency | Reuters however the IAEA expert they're quoting doesn't know what kind of uranium was taken -_-
Again, the severity of a dirty bomb is another question entirely, any radioactive material can be used to make a dirty bomb, the quality of the radioactive material defines the severity.

Vice had been pretty awesome but when they became a television series they're now run by Fareed Zakaria (who is part of the CFR) and Bill Maher so you can expect a bias just like any other american news agency

Neat video, stupid message.

MG1 07-12-2014 08:57 PM

Greenpeace.......... I've hated those guys since the Paul Watson days in the 70's. Even though he wasn't even one of the founders.

How dare they tarnish the LEGO name...... Actually, who gives a flying squirrel. Don't let kids see that, man. It's so depressing.

SoNaRWaVe 07-13-2014 03:36 PM

this is truly the saddest thing i've seen all day.

I think the core of the video's message is very intelligent.

It considers the blindness of society to its own destruction through oil because of the material benefits that it provides, exemplified by products like Lego.

It would interesting to hear your perspective on The Don't Make A Wave Committee/Greenpeace in Vancouver in the 60's and 70's. I read a book on the founding.

Watson was not only not a founder, but he was expelled by the board through a 10/11 vote against him in the seventies; his own vote was the one vote supporting him.

I'm guessing the US hasn't bothered to tell anyone WHAT they gave the Iranians? Typical USA.

I've noticed anything to do with drugs they downplay the severity of the drugs involved to the point of being ridiculous, and anything else is very "fuck the system" regardless of what's actually going on.

He was all about himself. He wanted to be in the books, in the films, in the media, and ultimately in everyone's face.

He gave Greanpeace a black eye. He wanted all the limelight - it was more important than being a true environmentalist.

Anyway...............

Why the fuck do some people just have to pee in public? There's a goddamn washroom at McDonald's ten feet away from you, you uncultured fucks.

And socks with sandals is a cardinal sin, douche.

murd0c 07-14-2014 09:49 PM

he might hate TD

BrRsn 07-14-2014 09:52 PM

maybe he likes the smell of his own urine and wants to enjoy it without the annoyance of others' eau-de-peepee-fromage?

murd0c 07-14-2014 09:54 PM

or he might be shit faced and doesn't give a fuck where he takes a piss

Ronin 07-14-2014 10:31 PM

Not shit-faced. Just a moron. He went and withdrew money from TD after at the ATM next to me...and you know that fucker didn't wash his hands.

Am I doing an old man "GET OFF MY LAWN!" right now or is this reasonable? Even when I was drunk off my ass as a kid, I could still find a bathroom. Who just fucking pees on the sidewalk of a strip mall?

SoNaRWaVe 07-14-2014 10:52 PM

MG1 07-15-2014 06:18 AM

He's marking his territory..............

melloman 07-15-2014 06:50 AM

Should've told him you're going to call the police if he touches the ATM with his pissy hands :troll:

Anyone know which gas station in Washington state has 94 octane and up? I know there are two North and South of Seattle. One of them is called thrashers corner but don't remember the other one.

Wow, before scrolling down to see the picture, I thought you were talking about some toddler urinating into a garbage can in a mall. But this takes the cake!

Shooting joke not so funny, Mounties say - News - Burnaby Now

Quote:

Nearly the full force of the Burnaby RCMP was dispatched to a local home on Saturday – turns out it was a joke that got way out of hand, and police aren’t laughing. Following the incident, Mounties determined the girlfriend did not intend for her boyfriend to contact police and the text message was a joke.
:fulloffuck: dumb bish

Inaii 07-15-2014 09:55 AM

What a moron, who sends their S/O a text saying they're being shot at as a joke? The derp is strong with this one.

Tomorrow's Record High Temperatures: 36°C (1941), 8°C (1988)

Apparently July sucked in the late '80s ... Single digit highs two summers in a row? :fuckthatshit:
