This video makes me want to eat some Persian food.

What's a good place to chow down?

Kilinim 11-16-2014 08:39 PM

Some decent Persian places on Lonsdale in North Van. Cazba is one.

Razor Ramon HG 11-17-2014 09:33 AM

Thanks. Looks like they got a location on Davie.

Hondaracer 11-17-2014 12:24 PM

Cazba ain't that great imo, everything's pretty bland

Then again I've never really had Persian food that wowed me

Recently painted some computer components with this Montana Gold - Montana Cans and Rustoleum Ultra Cover 2x as a finishing layer - RustOleum.com

The white is creamier than I would've liked. What's the best way to remove this stuff so I can respray it?

Thinking of using Easy Off or Aircraft Remover (if I can find it). But I heard it fucks up with anodized components.

Two of the three components are metal, and the last one I'm not too sure.. but I think plastic.

It was a fake listing to scam Walmart's price matching policy

That seems overly complicated, just edit a copy of the webpage to price it lower. Why they bother making a fake listing I'll never know.

Assholes are going to ruin price matching for everyone though.

InvisibleSoul 11-18-2014 09:54 AM

Is Quoting broken for anyone else?

Anyways, the reason for the fake listing is that it's "verifiable"... as in you can load up a working Amazon page and show the price, or the store employee can even pull it up on their own computer.

Any ideas for a birthday gift for a male senior coworker?

He's retiring at the end of the month, and he's been my mentor for about 5 years now. Well off financially but down to earth, so he's not extravagant or vain.

Company is getting a cake and some food, but I want to do something a little more personal to show my gratitude.

Price range is around $50.

sonick 11-19-2014 03:49 PM

Nice bottle of wine or scotch or cigars, whatever he's into.

inv4zn 11-19-2014 04:00 PM

He doesn't smoke...

...and I don't drink. Any recommendations?

Doesn't matter who drinks. A nice bottle of liquor is a good gift that also be turned around and re-gifted. :)

inv4zn 11-19-2014 04:25 PM

No, I know, i was saying that because I don't drink, I don't know what a nice bottle of wine or liquor would be haha

Can't go wrong with local ice wine.

Maybe a fine writing pen? Infact staples got a deal right now for a pretty nice looking one. They come with a pretty nice case for the pen too.

I would not go the liquor route because something good would be outside your budget, and moreover, because it is something in which people have very specific preferences. I would, however, consider a bottle of wine as you can buy a good bottle and it has a more general appeal. If you go that route, go to a wine store (or a very good liquor store) and ask someone to recommend you something for the occasion. With the holidays coming I'm sure it will be enjoyed. A nice note expressing your gratitude would be the most important gesture, imo.
