Your parents actually touched you with their bare skin?!?!?

Asian parents only touch their kids with sticks, belts and slippers.

MG1 01-27-2015 06:43 PM

all my life, no pat on back or even a fucking slap.....................oh wait, I got smacked up the side of my head...........having said that, I think pops had gloves on 'cause he was cutting up salmon at the time. Asian parents, eh?

Is this why sex amongst asians is so special? Too bad Freud wasn't Asian, lolololol.

I must say...I drove my car on Hwy 19N today (Nanaimo to Campbell River), with the 120 km speed limit and great stretches of wide open road.....it was a complete and utter blast.

Speed limits on certain hwys are so ridiculous. The thing I couldn't believe when I moved back to BC was they now have 90kmh limit on HWY1?!?

And the fact that NO vehicle on HWY1 actually follow that limit makes me think that someone is trolling hard in the provincial govt.

I'd say given the advances in sensor technology, we should have flexible speed limit system that basically just calculate the flow of traffic and impose both maximum and minimum speeds every hour or so. Those who are not following the traffic flow speed are the one posing risks, not the general population that's going above limit.

They are the only set of its kind. High res COLOUR pictures taking in russia over 100 years ago

From the article:

"With images from southern and central Russia in the news lately due to extensive wildfires, I thought it would be interesting to look back in time with this extraordinary collection of color photographs taken between 1909 and 1912. In those years, photographer Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii (1863-1944) undertook a photographic survey of the Russian Empire with the support of Tsar Nicholas II. He used a specialized camera to capture three black and white images in fairly quick succession, using red, green and blue filters, allowing them to later be recombined and projected with filtered lanterns to show near true color images. The high quality of the images, combined with the bright colors, make it difficult for viewers to believe that they are looking 100 years back in time - when these photographs were taken, neither the Russian Revolution nor World War I had yet begun. Collected here are a few of the hundreds of color images made available by the Library of Congress, which purchased the original glass plates back in 1948."

that would be bad, but hopefully the person who bought the ticket, if lost, doesn't even know that they had a winner.

Unlike this guy who bought 2 tickets 1 min before the deadline but the 2nd ticket didn't print out until 7seconds after the deadline...which caused his 'winning' ticket to be bought for the following week :heckno:

$13.5M-winning lottery ticket bought 7 seconds late invalid, top court decides - Montreal - CBC News
Quote:

A Quebec man who bought a winning lottery ticket seven seconds too late has lost his Supreme Court of Canada bid to appeal a decision that has denied him half of the $27-million prize.

Ifergan bought two Super 7 tickets on May 23, 2008, just before the 9 p.m. cutoff. (Super 7 was replaced by Lotto Max in 2009.)

The first ticket was printed showing the May 23 date — that night's draw. However, the second ticket, with the winning numbers for that night's $27-million jackpot, was printed after a few seconds' delay, showing a date for the following week's draw on May 30.

Ifergan claims the delay was caused by Loto-Québec's central computer system, and believes he's entitled to half the jackpot.

He sued the province’s lottery regulator for what he felt was his half of the jackpot. However, his attempts to bring it to Quebec courts were rejected.

The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to accept his appeal, with cost.

Wow, that sucks... but this really is a case of too bad, so sad.

punkwax 02-02-2015 04:08 PM

It does suck but his ticket printed with the next draw's date on it. I don't imagine any judge would have ruled otherwise so kind of a waste of everyone's time IMO. Some money hungry lawyer most certainly encouraged they bring it to court.

Does anyone know where I can find those photo booths where you sit in a booth and it takes like 5 pictures of you for a few bucks? I need to take some photos for a new job application but don't want to go pay more for "passport" pictures.

punkwax 02-02-2015 04:12 PM

No I don't.

Since you are so helpful with answering my question, do you want to meet up? That way you can take an awesome shot of me with your phone. Then we can go to Staples and you can buy me a coloured printer, coloured ink and photo paper. After that, we can go back to your place and you can show me how to print the picture without wasting time editing the giant ass picture to the right resolution and all the things you just bought from Staples just to make sure the picture prints properly.

All that shouldn't be harder then just going to a photobooth and getting what you need in 5 mins right?

punkwax 02-02-2015 05:09 PM

LOL. Don't be so sensitive, champ. :ifyouknow:

You can get pics printed inexpensively and quickly at London Drugs in a variety of ways if you had a digital pic to start with...

To answer your question, no, I haven't seen one of those booths in a long while, hence my question.

Good luck in your search.

MG1 02-02-2015 05:22 PM

Isn't there one at Metrotown by the entrance to Superstore? Mind you, the last time I went was.......... can't remember.
