I need a new compressor for the garage, I had a Snap-on ($500) from Costco but I dont know if it was that good as it could barely take my lugs off with the air gun.
Would that be the guns problem or the compressor? Compressor was running at max.
Anyways that got stolen out of my garage awhile back, So i need to replace it with something. Any good recommendations?
Looking for a standup w/ wheels if possible.
TIA

What gun are you using? And what were the specs of your old compressor?
How big of a compressor are you looking for 10 gallon 20, 60?
Price range?
What do you want to do with it?
Automotive tools like an air impact or air ratchet use a lot of air continuously. Usually you want a larger high CFM compressor for this work
Construction tools like a Brad Nailer. Do not use air continuously so you can use a small portable air compressor.

Ya my gun was one of those Costco combo packages. So i suspect it probably was a POS.
It will be mainly used for automotive work.
I'm looking between $500-700, but again that depends on quality. I want something that will last. I cheaped out on the first one(20Gal) and I'm not going that route again. Then again i cheaped out on both the air tools and compressor.
I know snap on for tools, but are they even a good brand for air compressors?

I use a Milwaukee cordless impact gun. 1100 ft lbs of torque. All my air tools have been replaced with cordless tools. Compressor is now used for filling up tires and cleaning dust and shit off of parts. Old habits die hard, but I've made the switch. I miss the loud sound and having to keep tools lubricated and keeping moisture in check.

Can't go wrong with Speedaire compressors and KMS backing them up, IMO.
Stay away from oil-less compressors too btw.
Most of my air tools are Chicago Pneumatic. I treat them like shit and don't oil them nearly as much as I should but they still work great. Right now I'm just using a 20gal, 4.5hp, CH compressor and it works fine except using tools that use a high volume of air.

Snap-On absolutely does produce good compressors, BUT the compressor in question alongside the plethora of other Snap-On products sold at Costco are not produced by them or to their standards, rather they are licensing their name to other companies that produce 'consumer grade' products. I believe the compressor in question is produced by Campbell Hausfield.
We use Speedair compressors and they've served us well. I've used Ingersol Rand a lot too and they were great. Snap-On, Mac, Ingersol Rand, and Chicago Pneumatic are all excellent brands of air tools.
I also have the Milwaukee cordless impact gun and it is amazing. It sits alongside a number of other Milwaukee cordless tools that I have that are also amazing, and I plan on buying the Milwaukee cordless ratchet at some point. Electric tools have advanced by leaps and bounds over recent years and I tend to think they would serve you better than air at this point.

Happy Mothers Day, RS.
Take time to thank your mom, or whoever looked after and raised you (I think of guys like ICE who had to be both mom and dad). It's a thankless job, but here is your one day to show your appreciation. If any of you were like me when growing up, you probably caused your mom a lot of pain and anguish. Mothers will always love you no matter what....

Any recommendations on where to purchase Speedair compressors? I always find I need a compressor so I may just get another 20gal. I do have a large amount of corded and cordless impact guns. But something inside me says I want another compressor again.
