Are you using a proxy? Have you taken a look at those settings?

Someone in my building is selling their 2004 Accord 5-speed for $2500 obo. They want it gone ASAP. This seems like a really good price. The body is in excellent condition. Not sure about the mileage, yet. Thoughts?

StylinRed 10-09-2015 04:05 PM

thats a really really good price, unless its a kingsway rebuild special

cant remember the details exactly, but i posted about it on here too

Anyone have recommendations for a beard trimmer? Just to keep my hair trim and professional.

MG1 10-11-2015 05:41 PM

Trimming beard............ I have to do that one day. My beard is long and and wire-y as in thick and need a pair of side cutters to trim. Nose and ear hairs grow a few inches a day. Just when you think you've taken care of 'em, babam! They're more popping up.

Something you young guys can look forward to, hee hee. Enjoy your soft facial hairs while you can.

Did they get rid of core chargers on brand new items like alternators etc as opposed to the reman's?

Bought a new alternator on the weekend for my truck and there was no core charge?

fliptuner 10-13-2015 06:41 AM

New = no core

Hondaracer 10-13-2015 06:43 AM

Yea that's what I figured, kind of stupid as the remanned one was only $10 less than the brand new one..

Guess old one going in the dumpster

fliptuner 10-13-2015 06:52 AM

I wish rebuild kits were still readily available. It'd be nice to spend $30-$40 and replace the bearings/brushes/diodes at your leisure and have a working spare.

Does anyone have a Kidde brand smoke detector? It keeps randomly chirping, not consistently but whenever it feels like it. I've vacuumed the outside of the unit in case there was dust build up, but it continues. I can't seem to take it down from the ceiling, is there a pin or something I'm just not seeing? Any help would be greatly appreciated! It does this at all hours of the day.

sonick 10-13-2015 10:50 AM

Not sure about the chirping, but have you tried twisting the detector to get it off? Mine's attached via a bracket.

Inaii 10-13-2015 10:52 AM

Yep. Tried twisting, pulling, pushing up and then twisting. It seems like mine is mounted directly into the ceiling? That's why I was asking if there's a pin or something I'm missing that you need to push/pull in order to get the damn thing out. Also, you're apparently supposed to cut the power to it since mine is hardwired, does that mean I have to flip the breaker for the whole suite? Wtf, why couldn't it have just been a battery one -_-

Hondaracer 10-13-2015 11:08 AM

Depending on where you live it's mandated in the building code now to be hard wired

Inaii 10-13-2015 11:19 AM

Lol I know, doesn't make it any less irritating though :( Thank god we're moving in 2 weeks. Between this and my idiot upstairs neighbours, I'd never sleep again.

I have a Kidde brand smoke detector, installed in 2013. About 1-1.5 years in, it started randomly chirping so I just changed the battery, but not sure why yours is chirping!

Mine has a "tamper resistant pin" that you have to pull out before twisting the detector to remove it from the mounting bracket. Google search for a Kidde user manual and you should be able to find a diagram.

Inaii 10-13-2015 11:31 AM

Awesome thanks Gumby!

Nope, no proxies, everything's on defaults.

I thought it might be a Shaw/Toshiba issue, but other devices hooked to the same network can access it fine, and hooking my PC to our other modem didn't fix it, so I know it's my PC. Maybe the stupid thing knows it's about to get replaced :lol

Presto 10-13-2015 09:48 PM

Have you tried resetting TCP/IP?

Run "netsh winsock reset" and "netsh int ip reset" on the command prompt.

Found the pin, got it down.... and there's no external battery -_- so I have to hope that treating it like a nintendo cartridge was enough to stop the beeping. It's driving me nuts. And the manual is less than helpful, it's for 3 different models and has no specific information. Crossing my fingers!

Terrifying armed home invasion attempt caught on camera | CTV Vancouver News

Video is pretty intense, the homeowner closed the door just barely in time before the invaders could slip their gun in.

if they had a real gun they couldve just shot the lock.
