That's cause you live in the ghetto. Next summer you'll see it in your neighbors back yard, being used as a hammock. :troll:

A brief synopsis on how Christmas came to be:

Quote:

Roman pagans first introduced the holiday of Saturnalia, a week long period of lawlessness celebrated between December 17-25. During this period, Roman courts were closed, and Roman law dictated that no one could be punished for damaging property or injuring people during the weeklong celebration. The festival began when Roman authorities chose “an enemy of the Roman people” to represent the “Lord of Misrule.” Each Roman community selected a victim whom they forced to indulge in food and other physical pleasures throughout the week. At the festival’s conclusion, December 25th, Roman authorities believed they were destroying the forces of darkness by brutally murdering this innocent man or woman.

B. The ancient Greek writer poet and historian Lucian (in his dialogue entitled Saturnalia) describes the festival’s observance in his time. In addition to human sacrifice, he mentions these customs: widespread intoxication; going from house to house while singing naked; rape and other sexual license; and consuming human-shaped biscuits (still produced in some English and most German bakeries during the Christmas season).

C. In the 4th century CE, Christianity imported the Saturnalia festival hoping to take the pagan masses in with it. Christian leaders succeeded in converting large numbers of pagans to Christianity by promising them that they could continue to celebrate the Saturnalia as Christians.[2]

D. The problem was that there was nothing intrinsically Christian about Saturnalia. To remedy this, these Christian leaders named Saturnalia’s concluding day, December 25th, to be Jesus’ birthday.

ISIS twitter accounts linked to British government servers as announced by hack group Anonymous.

British government responds with
Quote:

A Cabinet Office spokesperson said: "The government owns millions of unused IP addresses which we are selling to get a good return for hardworking taxpayers.

"We have sold a number of these addresses to telecoms companies both in the UK and internationally to allow their customers to connect to the internet.

"We think carefully about which companies we sell addresses to, but how their customers use this internet connection is beyond our control."

The government did not reveal how much money was made from selling the IP addresses to the pair of Saudi firms, because it regards this information as commercially sensitive

Is there such a thing as a triple face palm?

I guess double face palm and a head butt through half inch glass would do.

What you get when you hire game show host............

Even Metrotown is only open until 10 for moonlight madness this year. Too many people must be buying online now.

Found out my friend's dad died of a heart attack of Dec. 18th. Three generations of family members live within the same house. Going to be a hard Christmas for them...

I don't even feel like celebrating anything

MG1 12-20-2015 10:51 PM

I'm sure the deceased would have wanted everyone to continue their lives as normal as possible. That's what I tell my kids. If I die, I want everyone to live life to the fullest and not let my passing affect them.

Looking on Craiglist for 2014+ Mazda 3's.

Almost ALL the private seller ones, and a number of the ones dealers are selling are all rebuilts. With an exception of a few lease take-overs that are clean.

Anyone know why such a high ratio?

underscore 12-21-2015 07:37 AM

Being such a new car there's not likely to be many people selling them, except to ICBC following an accident.

What I can't figure out is why I can't find a single 07-09 4Runner for sale in BC.

Shoppers Drug Mart has a coupon for $5 off Gillette Fusion. Of course, some 'enterprising' individuals are hoarding them, and reselling them on eBay.

I got a parking ticket for parking over 3 minutes. My parking expired at 5:12pm and the ticket was issued at 5:15pm. I paid through paybyphone so I know exactly when it expired.

I couldn't add parking through paybyphone so I went to drop in coins when I saw the ticket.

Is it worth risking the $25 to dispute the 3 minutes? I also don't really want to pay $35 for actually paying and going back to add more money.

MG1 12-28-2015 07:07 PM

I had that happen - sort of. I had ticket dropped because I told the operator on phone that I had Dashcam footage with time stamp as proof. I had just purchased ticket albeit a little late. I had ticket number and its time was within 5 minutes of dude putting ticket on windshield.

Was it city or private? Mine was at Burnaby General.

Anjew 12-28-2015 11:20 PM

i saw this on reddit.
