it's the year 2016 and Canada Post stil doesn't do weekend deliveries :seriously:

lol my package arrived in Richmond for processing at 11AM but basically missed the 7AM cutoff time to have my package delivered in Burnaby by 11am....

tldr: basically won't get my package till Monday cause there's no weekend deliveries :okay:

syee 01-15-2016 11:27 AM

I've received packages on Sunday before through Canada Post. I would guess it might depend on the service level. (mine were shipped as Expedited Parcel service)

jeedee 01-15-2016 12:13 PM

really? I've never had a delivery on a Sunday and ive used every service

Post office is also closed on Sunday in my neighborhood so I doubt ill get anything that day :lol

So I have this school project that requires us to make a difference in the community and exercise leadership. We want to do something out of the norm and interesting.

A couple of people want to do soup kitchens and giving food out to the homeless, but that's really played out and there is little personal interaction with them.

Anyone have any ideas?

We're currently exploring the idea of volunteering at a community center and putting on activities for kids ie: basketball games and practices, baseball games, etc.

Thanks!!

if you guys have any special skill sets you can add to the activities as free teaching/training like teach music, martial arts, etc....or if you're doing like bball do a like a camp/seminar on how to shoot, dribble, post up, run plays...

Volunteer at a hospital or seniors facility. BC Cancer Agency, Habitat for Humanity, Shelters, etc. These places need volunteers to keep running. If you're into computers, check out Free Geeks (learn how to, while giving your time).

It depends where you live and also what time of the year it is.. Over Christmas downtown area had deliveries over the weekend because of backlog.

Appreciate the ideas lads.

We wanted to do something different from all the other groups.
For example, groups in the past have raised over $33 000 for cancer research while others have recruited the big blood donation truck and got over 300 students to donate blood.

But at the same time, we want to keep it attainable.

Are Canada Goose jackets worth the money? Do they ever go on sale? If yes, where?

Yes if you live somewhere where it's consistently below minus 20.
No they don't go on sale. Make a friend that works at a store that sells them for their discount.
Alternatively TNF Summit series is just as warm and often goes on sale 30 to 50% off.
Pajar is just as high quality and is currently 50% off st sport Chek for 1 more day.
Para jumper carries a similar brand prestige and is 30% off at sport Chek starting Monday.

It's minus 48 with the windchill where i am today and I'm glad I have my Goose and Nobis parkas....but I would never bring them to Vancouver.

I plan to buy 12-14 sheets of 4' x 8' x 1/16" or 1/8" polished aluminum diamond plate. I was quoted $900 a sheet by a shop that we do business with but that sounds quite high. Would any RS'ers that work in the industry be able to give me some insight? Or even help me to get a better price? (I'd show my appreciation $$$ if anyone with a shop discount would be able to help me out).

Is this class BADM 305 by any chance?

Does anyone know how big of an issue the diff lock not always engaging/disengaging is on an 05 4Runner with the V8? Is that just a matter of replacing a solenoid or would I be looking at a new transfer box?

Saw this on my feed, apparently up to 6 pedestrians where hit but only 2 seriously. Just another reason why I refuse to go into Richmond unless it is to the airport to gtfo.

I've ordered it from the states before when I needed a Satin Finish but what you're looking for should be available locally.

Metal SuperMarket in Langley, $214.38 p/Sheet for 4'x8' Sheets 1/8" thick and it's in stock. I had to call there for something else so got a quote for you. :)

yray 01-20-2016 12:25 PM

@ 12-14 sheets... you can try calling Ryerson. You can also try rigidized metals down in the states.
