Word to the wise - zipline before you ATV. We didn't and were filthy AF for ziplining.. mind you we were in the middle of a stag so :drunk:

Go buy the gift card from Costco. $150 iirc.

Dropped by Costco today. To correct myself...

It's $74.99 for 2 X $50 gift certificate + $10 off some restaurant.

Rates are
- $59 for treetop adventures
- $149 for superfly ziplines
- $219 for RZR for ATV tour

Not sure how many gift cards you can stack....anyone tried using for example 3 GC for zipline? Or 4 GC + $19 cash for ATV? Since they are "gift cards", I don't think there's a problem...but I didn't get the chance to study the fine prints.

I've used the Spa gift cards before and stacked three or four of them...and then got the whole cost covered by my medical plan (ended up profiting $50 i think)

Got a call from Amazon Visa this morning about some weird transactions. One from some euro website and another two from some American travel booking site.

Total charges over $1500.00.

Card was canceled immediately. This has happened far too many times with the Amazon Visa card. No other card has these issues. My Amex card has been rock solid for decades without being compromised. My PC World Elite, once.

Good news is, I'm not held liable for the unauthorized transactions. I hope they catch the fokkers.

^stop buying shit on porn sites with ur amazon card :troll:

underscore 07-17-2016 11:39 AM

But MG1 runs the porn sites.

I've only had my card compromised once, but I have two cards for that reason. I knew it was risky ordering from a site I'd never used before and sure enough I got a call the next day saying someone used it in Brazil to buy a plane ticket to Africa. They questioned me a bit when I phoned back, I felt annoyed at first til I realized it'd be a pretty easy scam to let someone you know "steal" your card info and use it to book a flight in a foreign country knowing Visa or MC will be covering the loss.

6o4__boi 07-19-2016 10:30 AM

anyone else unable to log onto amazon?

i can get into the site fine but for some reason it won't let me log on

Does anyone know what Tenant/Landlord's rights are after lease is over?
1 year lease is coming to an end Aug and landlord is keep asking for re-new. He is not saying resign or move out, but I'm afraid he may do that.
I have no plan to move out but rather not be locked in a contract if I can just go month to month.
Can landlord ask tenant to move out after lease, for whatever reasons, and to find new tenants?

I'm guessing, the reason he is pushing so hard for lease is because the unit is on UBC campus. so if I move out in the middle of the school year, he would have hard time finding new tenant because most renters in that area are students and they come and go during summer, before the school starts in Sept.

Of course, signing a lease has its pros too, but who knows where my life will take me, so I'd rather be month-month if I can.

Tenant Notice to End Tenancy - Province of British Columbia

could also contact them if you have any questions
i think they can ask to move out after lease for any reason...but they would have to give notice, i can't remember the time line off the top of my head, 2months maybe.

Speeding biker run over by car after Hwy. 1 crash: RCMP | CTV Vancouver News

Quote:

A motorcycle rider is undergoing surgery at Lion's Gate Hospital after apparently losing control of his bike and crashing onto an off-ramp on the Trans-Canada Highway in North Vancouver.
The man was thrown over a concrete barrier and hit by an oncoming vehicle after being thrown from his bike while getting off the highway at Lillooet Road around 9 a.m. Wednesday.
The 32-year-old Vancouverite was rushed to hospital and is currently listed in critical condition.
The driver who hit the biker was uninjured and stayed at the scene, according to North Vancouver RCMP.
Mounties believe speed is a factor in the incident and its collision analysis service is trying to determine what happened.

Depends what you guys decided on the original lease RTA. They have the right to ask you to move if you don't renew lease as long as there's notice.
