anyone here try the Dollar Shave Club?

is it worth it for someone who shaves every couple days or so? what's the quality like?
i usually buy the big sets from Costco when they're on sale but now i'm running low and i don't feel like dumping money on blades

No, but I think Dollar-shave club was bought by Gilette so prices may not stay that way much longer.

I recently bought a run-of-the-mill electric shaver and I'm loving every minute of it. I also used to shave with a razor every 3-4 days (asians, ha) - until I bought a philips something or other from LD for $50. Highly recommend.

6o4__boi 09-06-2016 10:16 AM

i looked into it...i think it was Unilever that bought DSC

also looks like Gilette also has something similar
but theirs is tied into Amazon and looks more complicated
i'll probably give DSC a shot at $3.50 a month

i've actually never had an electric shaver...the prices always put me off

Inaii 09-06-2016 10:17 AM

But if you think about it, sure the upfront cost seems like a lot, but how much would you be paying for replacement razors?

meme405 09-06-2016 10:37 AM

I've always found electric razors don't get as close as a razor, or straight blade.

If cost saving is ur goal, you should just use safety razors, you can even get a better shave from them.. replacement blades cost pennies each

yeah...
no

Presto 09-06-2016 10:45 AM

For reference, Quattro blades go on sale, pretty often, for $12. Something like that would last me 5 years, at least!

6o4__boi 09-06-2016 10:51 AM

Before i used Gilettes i used Schick for 5 years or so

I found they were pretty much useless after a couple of weeks
the hydrating strip fell apart within a week and it'll pretty much nick you all the time after that's gone

Gilettes usually last me a bout a month or two, shaving every day or every other day

Why not? I don't mean straight razors

Like so

U just buy new blades and put em in

http://malegrooming.com.au/media/cat...atherblade.jpg

They're so cheap to refill u could switch a new blade everyday if u wanted and it would still be cheaper than those gilletes Mach/hydro blades, but they're sharp enough to last you ages, longer still if u strop em (some do)

The notion that electric shavers don't get as clean as a cut as manual blades is what also put me off for the longest time. Plus I didn't want to spend $300 on the top of the line ones.

But for someone who shaves twice a week (ie. not hairy at all) they get close enough.

Plus its far, far more convenient.

I got the PT860/20 (on sale right now at LD), and it's as good a shave as any blade i've used so far (been using 5 blade schick if it makes a difference). Give it a try!

I usually get the big 52-count box of Gillette 2-blade disposables from Costco. My last box probably lasted me 4 years lol.

Though it's not much, it grows just fast enough that I have to shave daily. When it grows out more than a day or two I get the patchy pedo-stache thing going on #hairlessasianmaleproblems.

Are there a bunch of lighting stores on Bridgeport by ikea in Richmond?

I'm looking for an exterior fixture and somone told me around ikea there are like 10 different large lighting stores?

Presto 09-09-2016 03:20 PM

I'm running out the clock, and I found this while ridding spammers from my Facebook page:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6s...V4eUdJeDQ/view

It helped to kill a lot of time, but it's disturbing to see someone, literally, draw out the lines of their lunacy. I think we need the govt to allocate more money to mental health!

If you guys want to make a razor last longer you can try the trick of running it backwards over some jeans ~10 times after each shave, it seems to work but I don't really shave often enough to properly test it.

How much was the PT860/20 and when does the sale end?

I remember seeing a few along United, in Coquitlam. Have you been out that way yet, since it's closer?

I drove down brideport today and saw 6 lighting stores between Sweden and no 5. Richmond lighting, Vancouver lighting, home lighting, lighting warehouse, maple lighting and Noble furniture. Not sure what they sell as I was just driving by, but the signs were big enough to catch my attention.

If anyone is looking for light fixtures this area is by far the best I've found for stores and selection.

We ended up at Vancouver Lighting and their stock was by far the most varried I've seen.

It's surprisingly hard to find exterior fixtures, but their selection was decent and we ended up finding one we liked

Are there any must-see places in Everett? Or must-eats? We'll be there for a few days with a couple hours to kill each day.
