Was at Superstore on Grandview Hwy this evening depositing a cheque. I look for those envelopes and there aren't any. Damn......... kiosk chick says, "Oh don't worry, you don't need envelopes anymore." Okay, so I do the usual. When I press deposit, the door for envelope opens and asks for the cheque. Not thinking about it, I put the cheque in. Good thing I remembered exactly what amount was on the cheque. Next thing, it says it can't recognize the amount. LOL. Anyway, the freaking machine had scanned the cheque and asked if I wanted to see it. Yes, I do, sir/madam, I say to myself. I confirm the amount via the keypad and then it wanted to know if I wanted the scanned image printed onto the receipt.......... damn, I LIKE IT!

It's probably not a new thing, but it was a first for me.

Dude before me was using the machine and he was like inserting 700 bucks in 100 dollar bills all at once. Damn.......... then he proceeds to pay a bill. He was a little confused, but it all went through, I guess. I wouldn't be putting no money into some godless machine, LOL.

Progress is a bitch, but it's all so jalopy.

Yes, most banks do that, but the ATM thing was not expected.

JSALES 11-02-2016 12:07 AM

I've heard about some banks ditching the envelopes too, I have yet to try it though but I think I'd kinda feel wary about it lol

StylinRed 11-02-2016 08:26 AM

Td bank machines have been doing that for awhile, it's pretty neat, but they don't always take Ur stack of cash, it'll spit some back as if those were counterfeit, and u've got to do the whole deposit process all over

I deposit cheques weekly. I usually go to the Superstore in Coquitlam and I even went to the one in Metrotown not that long ago, and they still required the old school, envelope thing. I don't bank anywhere else. Well, not true........... I am with Vancity CU.

SO, unless those branches............ anyway, why am I trying to justify this shit to you............ I am dated, man. There's no doubt about it. Maybe not as old as the Korean couple, but not young. Did you know though, that I got carded the other day? They didn't believe I was a senior.

Remember the old Kerry Fraser commercial for some hair product years ago? "Two minutes for having good looking hair." Well, I should get 5 minutes for looking too young, Gu:lawl::lawl:

GLOW 11-02-2016 11:01 AM

we both dated

i got carded a couple of times in the last month too...1 time by someone i know is at least a decade younger than me...i was tempted to ask to check their ID after :lol

Wahoo!!!!!!!!

and I'm not talking the fake chief with one feather.

Congrats Chicago Cubs. It's been a long, long, ass time. 108 years in the making........ WOW!

and what a game................. this is what baseball is all about.

Witnessed the curse of the bambino broken in 2004 now this. Will I witness the Vanhoover Cannots win the Stanley Cup? Doubt it.

Hehe 11-02-2016 09:07 PM

What a game... you can't ask for a more dramatic game 7 than this.

To come back from 3-1, wins the game 7 in Cleveland's own turd with 10 innings. Wow...

Any recommended tailors in the Lougheed/Metro area? Looking to get a suit + some shirts altered (sleeve length, sides taken in)

Hondaracer 11-04-2016 12:38 PM

I take pants and jackets to the women in a small alterations shop by the upper entrance to the bay in Lougheed mall, never had a complaint

They aren't by any means fancy however

Liquid_o2 11-04-2016 03:58 PM

Ha! I was just coming in to ask if anyone has a recommendation for a tailor who can do simple pant length alteration in the Main/Fraser Street areas?

SSM_DC5 11-07-2016 08:54 AM

Any of you know who can service and repair a CAME gate motor? When it was installed years ago, the guy said he doesn't fix the motors, so if it breaks I gotta find someone else. I've already tested the motor itself, the transformer, and checked fuses. I've even replaced a very noticeable blown capacitor. I'm out of ideas.

Leonard Cohen passed away today...

An icon not only for Canadians but for humanity altogether. He was a great example of a singer, songwriter, poet and overall a true human being in every sense of the word.

I suddenly give zero fucks about the election. When a loved one passes on, they become irreplaceable...

Lol I always count

I've only ever encountered one issue with an ABM. It was when the first new $20 bills came out. Took out a $80 and got $100. Needless to say, I kept my mouth shut about that.

Need to brush up on some excel skills, mostly Pivot Tables

I learned it before but I don't use it often so I'm pretty rusty.
Do you guys know of a good website that provides sample exercises, questions and data sets I can play around?
