If anyone remembers the Chinese MMA fighter who is on a mission to destroy traditional Chinese Kung Fu fighters to expose their BS the 2nd fight has finally come.
Anyone here have a good Subaru sales guy? Looking for a 2018 WRX sport tech. I don’t want a pushy salesman just a straight up guy, no bs, no pushing for sales, help me get some accessories. I wasn’t happy with Subaru on marine drive when I went there a couple years ago. So looking for someone who really wants to help, let me test drive and work a real deal.

When I got my car, I spoke directly to the sales manager, Dusty @ Don D and gave me the best price - literally the moment I spoke to him. That being said, the sales person I met at Wolfe on Boundary was very helpful and knowledgeable about the car though their price was slightly higher.
Try Lloyd Yee at docksteader. Subaru Service tech turned to salesperson. Kind of active in the local Subaru groups. Perhaps he'd be more inclined to help after he finds out you're an enthusiast.
Anyone know where I can buy a cheap jerry/gas can? Locally/States, doesn't matter. As long it's 5Gallons/20L or whichever combination of such makes it up to 17Gallons/65L

This morning, bought a pack of Belmont for $16 and change...
I wonder if some people stacked up cartons before April 1st. I didn't even know this tax increase was coming down the pipe. Well, another reason for me to quit
Are bathroom fans considered common property that strata would handle?
I live in a condo, and I need to replace one of our bathroom fans. It appears that I need to access into the crawl space above the ceiling, which I don't have access to.

I've replaced bathroom fans before, just curious why yours need access to the crawl space?
For those in HVAC, I got a quick question with my water heater.
Came home to find out that the hot water is not working. I check the water heater and the pilot light and burner fire is off.
I can get the pilot light on no problem (takes a couple tries sometimes) and it stays on. But the moment I turn the temperature dial to let more gas through, the burner fire grows and then subsequently dies taking out the pilot with it.
I did some reading on thermalcoupler, but I think that's only an issue if the pilot light doesn't ignite.
Manual says that when the pilot lights, but burner will not stay lit, that the combustion shutoff system has been tripped and to contact a qualified service technician.
The air intake vents are non-obstructed, so I think that's ok. I took out the burner and found that it was quite rusted with flakes on top. I did some research and it seems to be due to condensation. Cleaned it thoroughly and vacuumed the other flakes inside and it the burner still doesn't stay on.
Do you think that this is possible to fix by myself? I'm going to Home Depot tomorrow to check, but I think I might end up buying a new one. I found out that it was installed in 08/2006 so it's getting there.

Check the B Vent?
It's been raining hard the last few days. Maybe there's a problem up on the roof. Clogged or woodpeckers got to the vent cover.
There's this one woodpecker that hops from one house to another doing its thing. So fucking annoying, because it only comes to my house on weekends when I get to sleep in. I am going to load my gun and go up there and end the fucking bastard's miserable life.

We ended up turning it back on today, but there was a strong gas smell.
Fortis came by and there was no leak around the water heater, just a small leak from the furnace beside it. He said we didn't know about it for years, so that wasn't likely the cause.
The guy thinks something is dead nearby or in the vents because it's not the smell of gas. Possibly mice? Never had an issue with them before so this is surprising.
I'm not sure if there is a drain under the water heater, maybe sewer gas is coming up from there? Might explain why the heater was going off as well?
I'll probably switch the water heater out in a couple of days since it's not an urgent issue and ask the installers.

I hope all you guys out there have Carbon Monoxide detectors installed in your residence. This thread just made me think about it. A lot of smoke detectors nowadays pull double duty and have Monoxide detectors built in. One day, it'll save your life.

you probably just need the motor replaced and not the housing.
find the model number of the fan and order a motor replacement. its a few screws and a plug in electrical connection and your done.

They do but CO detectors are most effective when mounted at 5-6’ so if you have the option to get one plugged in around face height please do so.

The only problem is smoke goes up and CO goes down. It'd be better than nothing but for $35 I don't see a reason not to have one.

Is anyone familiar with the later (2012-2013) Chevy Avalanche? My in laws want one for some weird reason but I don't know if one engine/trim level is better than the other or what to look out for as they age.
