Scraping ice off windshield this morning. Yikes! Good thing I disconnected all the hoses around the house, turned off all the spigots, and covered them with insulated covers a few days ago. Last thing I need is burst pipes. I did not cover my precious roses and plants from frost. I was about to do that, but weather reports indicated 3-5 degrees overnight. I just started getting into gardening. Noob move on my part. I’m surrounded by seasoned Italian gardeners. I should pay more attention to what they’re doing. Anyway...............

They got rid of the coach that checked out two seasons ago. At least he knew when to call it quits........... sort of.

To avoid getting roasted by social media, the earliest you can put up a Christmas tree is Nov 12. My cousin put up a pic of his tree on Friday, and people lit him up for not respecting Remembrance day.

House three or four blocks away from me, around the corner, had their full xmas light setup at the beginning of Oct / end of Sept. They shut it off on Halloween but i didn't notice on Remembrance Day. Doesn't bug me either way

My car broke down on the highway and I had it towed to the dealership. They quoted me that it will cost $5000 to fix my wormed out clutch. It's an 05 manual TSX with only 126K km on the engine with a good set of winter tires on there. Anyone have any experience with how I should proceed with this? The repair cost is much too high. Thanks

Can't you just call around different shops and ask for a quote that is more suitable to your budget and then call for a tow from the dealership to the shop?

It's not like the dealership is restricting you to go to another shop to get your car fix... or are they?

Seems a bit much for just a clutch job, are they fixing something else too?

Possible options are if you don't want to pay the dealer $5k:
1) Pay them the diagnostic time they already put into it, then
a) drive it away (which you probably can't do since it was towed there)
b) tow it away from the dealership to another shop, back home, etc.

2) sell it as is while it sits at the dealer to someone on RS and have the buyer remove it from the dealership.

Hate speech
https://www.rt.com/news/444189-twitt...-woman-ban-pc/

Quote:
Twitter’s crusade against “hate speech” has vanquished yet another meany face. A prominent Canadian feminist says that the company flagged a tweet she wrote which meekly suggested that men aren’t women. Isn’t Twitter fun?
Meghan Murphy, editor of Canada’s leading feminist news portal, Feminist Current, was recently informed by Twitter that two of her tweets had violated the platform’s rules against “hateful conduct.”

One of the offending tweets stated that “men aren’t women,” while the other asked: “How are transwomen not men?”

Some people who had the surgery would later regret it as it does not end up addressing the underlying issues so they become scarred physically while still being scarred mentally. The suicide rate is still very high regardless.

These surgeries are publicly funded.

Society continuing its race to the bottom at record setting pace.
I wonder when we'll ever be able to stop with this insanity and call transgenderism what it so clearly is.
A mental disorder.

Question on installing a kitchen sink faucet.

My current Kitchen sink faucet is kind of like this style, 2 piece, where the hot/cold lever is separate.

I want to replace it with something like this that's all one piece:

Will there be issues cause of the different style of faucets or it's pretty straight forward and everything will be compatible?

If it has that plate at the bottom (I think they're usually removable) it should be fine, without the plate there'd be a hole where the lever was. Worst case if it doesn't fit just swap it back but from my understanding faucet hole sizing and spacing is mostly pretty standard.

Straight forward. No issues.

Only thing that might need to be addressed is the opening underneath to accommodate a larger nut or fastener.

OK, Thanks. I'm not as worried about the opening (seems straight forward), but more on the connections, like if the hot/cold water lines are going to be different if it's built into the faucet as opposed to being separate.

You can take a look under there, but the connections to the flex lines should be the standard ones. I assume there's a line or something connecting the lever to the outlet on the old one that you'll have to disconnect but you won't have to worry about it for the new one.

These units typically include a single hole or a cover for multiple hole counters to be blocked, usually marked on the box also. Super easy installs, you shouldn't have any worries everything should be included with the Faucet. The Faucet itself will probably already have lines connected, so you just need to connect them to the shutoffs.

If it's the same Shine as the one on Terminal, then no. They have the rails on the side and the tire drive on thing that pulls you along.

The Esso on Kingsway near Willingdon doesn't have the rails, nor does the Mobil Lube Express on Bridgeport and No 5. Those are the ones that I've been to off the top of my head.
