Is Canada Post still backlogged? I'm looking to order things from Amazon that claim delivery by Friday or Monday but not sure how it's going with Post. Anyone getting their stuff on time or not on time?

^If you have amazon prime, they will probably get their own couriers to deliver your package to you. Otherwise they might use other couriers such as UPS/Fedex as well.

Not necessarily true. I have prime and during this time i've received items from Amazon through Fedex, Purolator, Amazon Couriers, and Canada Post.

I was a little peeved that despite knowing the ongoing situation with Canada Post, they still shipped two of my packages via Canada Post. If they are going to guarantee two day delivery, all they had to do was use any of the other carriers. One of the packages came on time, but the other was delayed by a week.

They are well aware of the situation and yet they don't change their shipping algorithm to exclude Canada Post. Sloppy as fuck.

If your items are from the BC warehouse, it will be delivered by their own courier. Otherwise, it's a mix between UPS, Puro (very rarely now) and Shitty Post.

I do have Prime. Unfortunately last year, I ordered a box of stuff they apparently delivered it to my apartment (no phone call). Needless to say, I had to get a reorder without charge but one item had to be changed because the one I ordered was no longer available from the warehouse.

They were good about it but I hope it doesn't happen again this year.

A bunch of ferry sailings have been cancelled today and I have a reservation for the Tsawassen-Duke Point at 8:15, which has not yet been cancelled. There is only one sailing after to follow it before their night is done. Has anyone experienced cancellations? Will those with reservations on cancelled sailings be given priority, bumping me to the 10:45 or into tomorrow or do they give the original reservation priority?

So according to a higher up at Canada Post who called me 7:58 in the morning when I told then to call me at 4 P.M. Tells me the word item on there website does is not in reference to my package but in reference to the whole shipment from UPS and that they don't have my package. At least 4 other front line workers who I talked to on the phone said they have my package. Have been waiting for this item since the 23rd that was shipped via UPS.

Anyone happen to know a man who drives a black pick up with white christmas lights wrapped all around the back window? I'm guessing he lives in the Langley area since that's where we were at the McDonald's drive through on 200th and 84th. Waiting to get my order - XL black coffee, and I see him tap his card and then tap it again so I'm thinking great...this could take a while. He gets his order and drives off. I pull up and the guy gives me my coffee and tells me the other guy bought it for me. Awesome. I've no idea who he was but thanks! If anyone knows someone whose truck fits that description tell them I said thank you! :)

I'm looking for a basic part-time job (like cashier, barista...), I have immediate availability.

It doesn't have to be anything fancy...McDonald's, Starbucks, Safeway, Walmart etc. are all fine with me. Though, I had a first choice, it would be to work at Starbucks since they offer dental.

Anyway considering how close it is to Christmas, I wonder if companies have stopped hiring for the moment. I've heard from staff at a WorkBC centre some years ago that post-Christmas (Jan/Feb) is the slowest time for retail. I checked out the Starbucks subreddit just for the heck of it (since I was researching that company previously), and what I gleaned was that Starbucks' hiring blitz is well before the holiday rush, with hiring not picking up until mid-spring.

I mean I could wait until January but I want to get some part-time work ASAP.

Anyone else miss Woodward's Food Floor? I dearly miss their signature lasagne. It was, by far, the best lasagne money could buy. People often passed it off as their very own homemade lasagne.
