i have a quick question hopefully someone can answer. Can somebody else return an item for me to a store if I paid on credit card? Granted they bring in my Credit card when returning? I ask because am not in town right now and the return policy is going to expire before I get back..

yes I have returned items before that other people bought and havent had a issue. That being said it depends on what you are returning and store policy

i got a parking ticket in vancouver and it has passed the 14day period and is now doubled. i called the ticket office and they refuse to budge on the price. is there any moment on the price at all? i'm kinda pissed because i'm acctually trying to PAY my ticket as opposed to others who rack up hundreds and dont care because our court system is fubar.

There are stories that COV gives one freebie if it's your first ticket. You can ask for a freebie and make up some lame ass story to explain your woes.

so this is international news now

a Doctor in Japan made a video of him cruising/speeding in his 458 Italia last year

commenters got pissed and informed the police the investigation started in May of 2011
and he was picked up

Japan: YouTube Ferrari driver faces speeding charges

A doctor in Japan has landed himself in trouble with the police after posting footage of his drive in a Ferrari sports car on YouTube.

He is facing charges of exceeding the speed limit after the footage showed him driving at 124km/h (77mph) in a 40km/h (25mph) zone, police say.

The 50-year-old doctor, from Okawa in Fukuoka Prefecture, was reported to police by angry YouTube users.

He reportedly said he "wanted people to understand the beauty of a Ferrari".

The six-minute video is titled "Ferrari 458 Italia Drive in Japan 2011" in Japanese, and was filmed using a camera positioned behind the driver.

It shows the car leaving an underground car park and driving along highways and coastal roads in Fukuoka, southern Japan, on the morning of 24 April 2011.

At least 84 people marked dislike under the YouTube posting, compared with 19 likes.

Police said they were tipped off about the video in May and began investigating, the The Mainichi Daily News reports.

According to the newspaper, the police determined the speed of the car based on the distance covered and the time elapsed.

A police spokesman told the AFP news agency that the driver was identified from the footage, and he could face a six month jail sentence or a fine of up to $1,220 (£778) if convicted.

I think what got them mad (and why he was picked up) is the speeding through the narrow streets of the seaside with pedestrians/cyclists walking and traffic parked

US soldier kills Afghan civilians in Kandahar

A US soldier in Afghanistan has killed 10 civilians and wounded five in Kandahar province after suffering a breakdown, officials say.

He left his military base in the early hours of the morning and opened fire after entering local homes; women and children are said to be among the dead.

Nato said it was investigating the "deeply regrettable incident".

...

The BBC's Quentin Somerville in Kabul says the death toll could rise as high as 17.

A delegation from the provincial governor's office has arrived in the village to determine what has happened, a spokesman said.

After carrying out the killings, the soldier reportedly handed himself over to the US military authorities.

Oh no! A $1,220 dollar fine! How will the poor Ferrari owner make ends meet if such a stiff penalty is imposed.

I really wish the rest of the world would take heed to the European style system of income based traffic fines, especially British Columbia, it makes so much more sense and is effective and fair.

Over there, unless things have changed drastically, just having his name in the media is punishment enough.

$1,220 might as well be 8 billion. Unless, he's some hardcore Yakuza. In which case, he'd be like :rukidding::fuckthatshit:

that's a mugshot from 2005 when he was arrested for resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer (those charges were dropped)

Quote:

Zimmerman told police officers that he had shot Martin and officers found a semiautomatic handgun on him. The report said that Zimmerman's back was wet and he was covered in grass as if he had been on the ground. He was bleeding from his nose and the back of the head, the report said.
Arrested: George Zimmerman was arrested in 2005, but the charges were later dropped, reports show

A police officer said he overheard Zimmerman say, 'I was yelling for someone to help me but no one would help me' while he was being treated by paramedics.

Zimmerman has been interviewed three times and is cooperating. He is claiming self-defence, even though he was following Martin, police said.

1) its a mixed gated community

2) the neighbourhood watch guy was told to stand down by 911 dispatcher, he didnt listen

3) the shooter was charged/arrested in the past for resisting and assaulting an officer

4) the 17yr old deceased was on the football team

5) sounds like the shooter was involved in a scuffle with the deceased (was probably heckling the kid and got into a fight with him)

6) shooter had a semi-automatic gun on him (dont know the laws in florida about that but the families attorney is like "wtf???")

7) shooter is cooperating with police and claiming self defense

8) 911 tapes havent/wont be released because the police don't want to cause witness bias

:/ tricky
