This story bothers me. Yes I have gotten a DUI before (didnt crash or hurt anyone) And never again did i drink and drive.
This guy from the USA. Hits and drags this girl for blocks. Cops dont even charge him. Like WTF! The guys insurance aint gonna cover the girl either.
Next time. If i do drink and drive. Ill make sure i hit and drag someone. Canadian laws are sad

Does Canada even try US citizens in court? Like what about that criminal investigation in regards to that Peace Arch crash (explosion)? Like big whoop, the guy doesn't get to come back to Canada, but what about justice for the guy who died?

wheres the best place to donate clothes that actually goes to a good cause?
i've got bags of good, clean clothes and jackets etc. but i dont really feel like puting much effort into donating them and usually just take them to value village etc. which obviously isnt the best

If you donate to Canadian diabetes, it will ultimately end up at VV, as that's who they're contracted with.
Just throwing that out there if that's a concern.
I think salvation army uses a good portion of their funds toward good causes.

Union Gospel Mission is a great organization as they distribute to DTES residents and through their thrift store. https://www.facebook.com/events/179715116294574/?ti=cl
DTES pop up is happening for the fifth year. Donations can be dropped off on Saturday's at Killarney.
All donations picked up at your front door are great as it gets reused. However most sell to Value village and it is owned by a private equity firm hence the higher prices in stores.
Sally Ann and the hospital thrift stores are great too but sometimes are too full to take more donations.

I don't give a shit what brand name anymore.
Glasses are now fashion so I'm happy I have 5 pairs to swap instead of wearing it for 2 yrs. Only catch is you can't claim it via benefits; so i use the budget all on contacts.

I would like to claim the glasses via benefits, so I'll be going the normal route. I've heard both good and bad with on-line glasses. I've heard Costco was pretty good. I'll give them a try.
Thanks, anyway.

Was at Home Depot looking for grommets. As I entered the building, I noticed all the Halloween props up for sale. One, in particular, caught my eye. It was black face!! Damn, it was so racist. Black skeleton??????? I thought even black folk had white bones.
Do asians have yellow bones, then?
I demand Home Depot sell yellow bones to represent all us asians...........
And......... how about Lomac's favourite........... midget skeletons.
I love All Hallows' Eve, and I'm not even christian.
god bless

Costco is good for glasses, as is Clearly Contacts. The last set of glasses I got before LASIK was from them with one of their free glasses promos. Because my prescription was so bad they were still fairly pricey with all the thinning upgrades and stuff which was a large part of why I opted to get someone to blast my eyes with freaking laser beams.

Does anyone use a battery booster pack? (to jump start a battery if it dies)
I'm getting one for my dad for Christmas and i'm not sure if the cheapo ones on amazon are good enough, or if I should get an expensive one.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I have the cheapo Canadian tire one https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/m...-0111906p.html (was on sale for like $80) and it works fine. Used it to jump a bunch of times and it's slim profile so you could bring it wherever. I'm sure the Amazon ones are probably the same as this minus the motomaster branding

I have one in every vehicle. Whatever you do, don't get that shit from Costco. The one I got lasted once.......... too late to get warranty , because it sat in the car until I needed it, which was after warranty had ended (90 days). I have a heavy duty portable (not that portable) that I keep in the garage. Its a XXXXXXX (will update with name later). It is totally reliable.
Back to the ones I have in all my vehicles. Noco GB40 and GB70. Those jump starters are amazing. You can start just about any vehicle multiple times, I mean multiple vehicles without having to charge it up again. The GB70 I have in the SUV has been used three times to help others get going, and it is still at full capacity. It can also charge your devices and can, itself, be charged up via the 12v plug in your car. It actually uses a USB 5v. Takes overnight to charge, though. Anyway, wait until they go on sale at Canadian Tire.
You can even buy really nice cases for these things on Amazon. Makes it really nice when giving as a gift.
The starters come in three? sizes. I have the GB40 and the GB70. The GB150, I think, is overkill. Anyway..........
So why have a jump starter for an electric vehicle? Well, even though your main battery is fully charged, the vehicle needs the little 12 volt battery to actually start the car. If that battery ever dies, you're hooped.
If you're looking for the most reliable on-board battery charger, check out the NOCO GEN Mini 1 https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/n..._BwE#store=608
I gave up on that CTek crap. I have/had 5 of them. Two died on me. You need these things to be reliable, ffs.
Did I mention the NOCO's go on sale often at Canadian Tire? If not off the price, 20, 30, and sometimes 50X's in CT Money.
BTW, I will not call Canadian Tire, Cambodian Tire again. In case I offend any Cambodians on RS.

Thanks for the tips guys. I was looking at NOCO's and Amazon has ones that are about 50% less, but I guess i'll just get him a NOCO since it seems like it's the most reliable. I asked my friends as well and one of them had a NOCO, he said he's had his in his car over a year and needed it and it was good to go.
The whole point of this thing is to be reliable, so might as well buck up for it.
I'm going to wait until Black Friday, I suspect the deals will be the best and it'll be perfect for Christmas.
Thanks everyone!
