These stinking filters are like 20 bucks a pop !!! Expensive!!! My furnace only takes this weird 16x16x1 that’s available from rona.

I think it’s merv8 but I threw away the packaging. It’s 3M though.

Vacuum it out, good as new.

Lol it’s the fine particles that block the flow not the big lint and dust you see stuck on the filter

fliptuner 01-15-2020 08:49 AM

Are you scientist now?

Good, you can afford to buy me new filter. Until then, start vacuum, then shovel snow - here's a flat gardening shovel.

It's 138.9 now.

Do you still need to do an oil and filter change on Honda K24 if i refilled the oil from low to high back on the dipstick due to oil burning?

underscore 01-19-2020 08:52 PM

I hate how nobody seems to teach their kids respect for other peoples property around here. Stay off my property and DON'T TOUCH MY SHIT.

Not sure if serious... but yes, the impurities need to be emptied out the bottom and the filter is probably full of gunk. Also, the difference between the "low" and "full" on dipstick is only 1L of the 4-5L in the engine.

Trash parents raise trash kids, cycle repeats.

Someone opened the door of my car over the weekend too, and left it cracked, so the battery is dead thanks to the door light. I'm tempted to build a fence around my entire property.

We use DAFCO filters at the hospital I work at and they are generally much cheaper than retail filters.

https://www.amresupply.com/part/1041...STD-CAP-FILTER

You can also get boxes of 12 direct from DAFCO (looks like about $60/box on their online store).

There are other suppliers/manufacturers out there as well.

If you’re getting reduced performance during the winter months, my suspicion is that the filter media is getting damp. How much outside air is being brought into the furnace? Are there sources of moisture that may be getting into the return air?

Definitely do not operate without a filter.

That’s awesome jmac. Thanks I’ll for sure go look at amre.

My driver side mirror keeps getting hit by other drivers (I suspect parents dropping kids off at elementary school) so I've been using bondo to secure it in place as a cheap fix, but the downside is that it doesn't fold-in anymore.... This has happened about 3 times now..

at least the turn signal, heat, and mirror movement are still working..

The 9th gen civic seems to have a problem with that - mine does it too. Never been hit once. Richmond Honda is adament that smt hit it, so not covered under warranty, but mine just shakes.

I try not to get too annoyed, but my vehicles frequently get hit by crap no matter where I put them on the driveway and it gets frustrating. I've found all kinds of dents, scrapes, and dings (a lot from the stupid basketball net you can just see at the edge of the cameras view), had a buddies car get hit and run right out front, people going through vehicles and leaving the doors open, etc etc. Not once has anyone apologized for any of it. My eventual plan is to move out of town to where I can't even tell if I have neighbours, but for now the location is super convenient for when the kids go to school (walking distance from K to college).

u mean a thief broke open your door? or do you just didn't lock ur car?

underscore 01-23-2020 09:34 AM

Yeah they pop the locks sometimes, 80's security tech isn't exactly high-end. It was parked right in front of my security camera so I'll have to skim the footage.

Man some wacky ass weather today. Thunderstorm and hail in Port Moody at around 11:20am - that was nuts. Around 11:30am, the power went out at Bridgeport in Richmond. At around 1:30-1:40PM, there was an earthquake felt in North Van.

stewie 01-25-2020 05:12 PM

Went to the motorcycle show today with the girlfriend. 15$ entrance fee.

Girlfriend won me a new motorcycle 😊
