Another DIAMOND PARKING fiasco.

I'm so fucking frustrated with these people.
Tell me if you guys think my vehicle is parked illegaly.

Attachment 31075

Ticket was for illegal parking spot.
Been parking in the same spot on and off for 1.5 years now.

I appealed twice, denied twice for parking against sign rules.
Twice I've explained the sign and both times they said it was illegal.

Soo I've sent them an email this time instead of the customer portal.
Am I in the wrong here people??

punkwax 01-27-2020 05:24 PM

^technically yes, you are in the wrong.

The pic angle is trying to conveniently make it look like your bumper might be behind the sign when in reality it is not.

Is it kinda lame? Sure.

Are you in the wrong? Yes.

ssjGoku69 01-27-2020 08:04 PM

It looks like you were over by 5cm at most.

Which lot is this? lets remove that sign Kappa

Manic! 01-27-2020 08:10 PM

Is that r the sign or the arrow. Looks to me it's no parking as free the arrow.

MG1 01-27-2020 08:29 PM

^huh?

Back in December, a Telus rep promised my family a $20 reduction in the outstanding balance of our account (she said it would show up on the January 23rd bill). However, that $20 reduction never appeared, and when we tried to call Telus about it, they treated us like liars.

Yes, we should have written down the case number during the first call, but it's about the principle of the matter. Especially my mom, doesn't appreciate being treated as though she is a liar (she was the one who made the first call). We're considering moving to Shaw, and I was wondering what kind of deals there are for new customers.

Currently our household has a landline, Optik TV and internet triple play bundle. We have the money to pay off the outstanding balance, I don't want to give off the wrong impression.

I had a similar experience with fido few years back. I went into a fido store and wanted to get the $60/10gb BYOD. So i switched 2 lines over. The clerk made a mistake and somehow lost one of my phone #'s. She tried to get the # that she lost but failed. So i had to get a new #.she said would give me a $50 visa gift card via mail. . I never received it. Man was i pissed.

Razor Ramon HG 01-28-2020 06:18 PM

Don't switch to Shaw yet.

Give a CRTC complaint and someone from Telus will call you back within 2 business days, guaranteed.

When they call you, tell them what's going on and what you would like. Ask for what was promised + more. They'll bend over backwards for you.

underscore 01-28-2020 10:26 PM

Telus are scum, I have countless stories of them ripping off and trying to rip off friends and family. If the worst they've done is not give you a $20 credit you're probably lucky.

Damn......... found chicharrøns (deep fried pork rinds) on sale at Costco the other day. They're good on their own, but I had a container of KD Shaker that was collecting dust. I decided to combine the two. I did a shake and bake, except no bake. Put the two items in a ziplock bag, shook it and damn, it's so, so good.

I use KD Shaker on fries and whatnot, but this combo is amazing.

Sprinkle coarsely crushed chicharon on Mi Goreng or whole, in a burger. Extra porky crunch goodness. :sweetjesus:

Anyone DIYd a shipment before? Or maybe a cheap broker that I can use?

I’m looking to import something (an electronic dry box, big one) and the manufacturer in Taiwan can do CIF to Port of Vancouver. Where I should pick it up and clear the custom myself as it’s a personal item.

How do I do it exactly? It’s again a personal item, so I don’t want to spend too much on. Anyone can point me to the right direction on the steps and costs once it arrives to PoV?

How are you looking to ship? If not super heavy and big, you could just ship using DHL, FedEx, or UPS and self clear yourself or use a service like clearit.ca

It’s by a freight forwarder. I’m assuming by sea via containers.

I wanted to book a road test. The next available ones aren't for three months (early May), except for Powell River which has available tests at the end of March. Is there absolutely nothing I can do except book now and wait the three months?

HonestTea 02-06-2020 02:58 PM

Keep checking everyday as people cancel regularly

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum........... Okay, Circle K on Production. Last day for the free Pepsi Zero deal. Anyway, I park and get out of car to hear some faint chinese being spoken by a female. I didn't think anything of it. I could have sworn it came from somewhere inside the car of all things. As I turn to lock the car, I see my rear passenger door open, like wide open. I was like, WTF?

Then I see her. This tiny young woman. Kind of cute. In her late twenties??? She wanted to get in my car. She thought I was one of those chinese uber drivers. She looked so confused. She kept on looking at her phone. She didn't speak a lick of english, so I had to do gestures and shit. I left to get my freebie and when I came back she was hanging around another car.

Anyway, carry on carrying on.................

Is showing up early and getting on the standby list still an option?

How much of a hassle would it be trying to sell a bunch of large (four 4'x6' 0.032", two 3'x10' 0.062") sheets of 301 full hard stainless steel?

I was going to chop it up to make skid plates, but it turns out it's really expensive stuff (according to the internet) so even if I could get half of what the retail price is that's still 3x more than what premade skids cost. I'm tempted to sell it and just buy them but I have no idea how to sell something like this since shops and stuff would just buy it from a supplier.
