I purchased a new battery from the BMW dealership earlier this month as a backup in case my 12v dies. Currency it's in a cool & dark storage, but do I need to connect a trickle charger onto it from time to time?
At the dealerships, how do they store new batteries?

Someone else can correct me if I’m wrong but if the battery has a charge then yes you will need to plug in a trickle charger.
When I bought my motorcycle battery they had to put in the acid and charge it before I could pick it up.

When I worked at Canadian Tire they all just sat on the shelf. Same deal at Costco. I've never seen any place that put them on chargers. If there's nothing connected to it draining it they're good to sit for a long time. Just don't let it sit directly on concrete.
I'm confused as to why you'd buy a battery you don't need yet from a dealer of all places.

Curious why not on concrete?
The car in question is a bmw i3 and they are known to have 12v issues without warning. The battery is hard to find outside the dealership here in Canada.
Supposedly the high heat transfer rate of concrete will let the battery get too cold which is hard on it. I have no clue if that's just an old wives tale or only applicable to old school batteries but it'll protect the concrete if the battery leaks so I've always figured it's a good idea.

In the past half year, I've had my car broken into twice. It has keyless entry, but not proximity key entry. I have to manually push the button on my key fob to lock/unlock my car.
Is it possible for people to break into my car with a relay box like they do for cars with proximity key entry, or am I more likely just forgetting to properly lock my car?
Both times I've had someone enter my car, I've noticed no signs of forced entry nor did my alarm go off.

This is a picture of my two car garage. My plan is to only park one car in the garage and use the other side more as storage and a workshop. I am wondering if there is a more efficient side to park?
I've been thinking about it and I can't seem to decide.
Any thoughts or am I over thinking this?
Thanks
I have the exact same garage layout (guessing this is a Vancouver special) and I'm currently parked in spot 2, but if I were to do it again, I'd park in spot 1 mostly for the convenience of having the driver door open into open space and not into a wall.
bestbuy. Same item 2 different prices. Tried to buy one they had none in stock. Then why do you have a bunch of tags hanging? She said then includes online stock \ If I wanted to buy online why would I come to the store. She checked online and they had none it was discontinued. Thanks for wasting 20 min of my time.

Best Buy is so bad. I had a case fan die late at night a few months ago and Best Buy had a Thermaltake unit on sale that would do the job, so rather than ordering online, I went in.
Went straight to the PC section and got caught by a sales associate who asked me what I was looking for. Told her I was looking for a TT case fan that’s on sale and she responds, “like for under your laptop?” I said, “No. A fan that goes inside your computer case.”
She calls another sales associate over to ask her and she says, “oh, a case inside your computer? That sounds like a Geek Squad item.”
So then she brings me over to the Geek Squad desk and I say I’m looking for a Thermaltake 120 mm PWM case fan that’s on sale this week and she says, “I don’t know what any of that other stuff means but the case fans are over here.” Walks me over to the case fans.
Last month, my friend bought a Seagate M.2 SSD online and didn’t realize that it didn’t come with the mounting hardware, which normally ships with the motherboard. He couldn’t find his spare parts so I was trying to track down some stuff for him locally so we could get it installed that day. Tried all the mom & pop shops, then London Drugs, Staples, and, finally, Best Buy as a last resort. Go talk to the tech at Geek Squad and say I’m looking for M.2 mounting hardware for an Asus motherboard and she asks, “What do you mean M2?” I respond “An M.2 solid state drive.” She says, “Oh those just plug into a SATA port.”
It’s bad enough the sales associates don’t know anything about computers but how the fuck does the tech not know what an M.2 drive or PWM fan are?
I’ve been dealing with “geek squad” to honour a simple warrantee claim on my gas range for almost 2 months now. I thought the support was bad with HP but BB and geek squad take the cake. I will never buy another thing from Bestbuy based on the experience and absolutely horrendous service I’ve had from start to finish.
The ironic thing is that the sales manager was metro was excellent however everyone else along the way have been a nightmare

BB lost my Nikon DSLR that was out for warranty repair years ago. I got dicked around for 4-6 weeks, pulled a Karen and got ahold of someone in upper management. Next day I picked up a brand new camera that was a model up from the one they couldn’t find.
Pull a Karen when you need to. Just don’t be a Karen about it

lol if they lost your product then you have every right to go apeshit, especially if they're dicking you around. That's not a Karen move.
A Karen move would be demanding for them to send you 5 cameras because you sustained life changing anxiety.
I suppose my advice was for Honda to get ahold of the sales manager who helped him initially and let that person know the experience since. BB can go above and beyond but will never offer to right away. Just be calm about it and good things can happen.

Yea I’m going into the store on Monday if they haven’t gotten back to me. Ideally I would have just went straight to him before but didn’t feel like going into the store if at all possible

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee..........
Anyway, yesterday afternoon, neighbourhood ice cream truck was playing a tune I had never heard before.
I thought, wow, this is great. The usual "Turkey in the Straw" the ice cream truck plays has been deemed racist by many. So, ice cream trucks in the US are changing their tune.
I heard the ice cream truck just a while ago and it was playing the same ol' "Turkey in the Straw."
Fricken racist ice cream truck driver, gulolol.
To be honest, the lyrics are fine. It's the other versions of the song that are questionable and there's a bit of history with that song.
Manic! - You don't want a portable SSD anyway, especially a Samsung. They are prone to breaking and there's almost no way of restoring. I had to send mine to a very expensive firm in DT, who quoted us at least $1000 to restore it. This was for work, so it was important. They weren't able to restore it. Their advice? Don't buy portable SSD.
