I've had peking duck a handful of times for takeout since covid, and it still hits the spot despite being lukewarm.
Most places that do peking duck normally would have it available for takeout, so just look for the place that has the best reviews.
Dunno of how it compares, I've taken peking duck out from Happy Day Cafe in Richmond and it was fine.

So we bought a new toaster oven and the only place it can sit is on the counter next to the gas stovetop. There's about 4 inches of space between the stovetop grille and the side of the oven.
Any tips or links to help keep the side of the toaster oven clean from splatter? Standup shield? Some sort of adhesive covering on the toaster oven? Because heat is a concern it obviously can't be paper or plastic.
I can see where you are coming from. I have had 2 types of people... some who have never been and they say it's expensive.. .well.. it's like saying "i would never buy a porsche when an audi is just as good" "Have you sat in one before and had a good test drive" "No. There's no need cause I read about the reviews ".... well fuck off.
No diff than fine dining at Mott 32; BBQ pork $25 at parker Place for 2 pounds versus bbq plumo iberico pork with yellow mountain honey $52 dollars for 7 pieces....
The melt in your mouth iberico pork tenderness is legit. Went to Michelin-starred Hong Kong which also does the mott 32 bbq..is exactly identical in flavor and standards. Have to appreciate that quality control.
Old beijing from beginning to end, 90 dollars a duck,... you are getting what you are paying for.
Am I going to eat it everyday, hells no. Can I appreciate their efforts..yup. Will others? that's within the eye of the beholder.....
Woudl I ever do take out.. no. The ONLY way i would do take out (during covid) is pick up from the store and drive to the closest park and eat / tailgate / trunk of my SUV on a sunny day...

Holy Howie Meeker, tried the spam musubi from Manpuku today. $2.85 each, but so good. I’ve never seen it there before. Japanese Mayo under the slab of spam that’s been cooked to perfection. The teriyaki sauce was not overpowering and the rice was heavenly. Not squished but kept it’s shape. It doesn’t have the tamago on top like the ones from Fujiya, but it’s not needed. Worth every penny. Did I mention it’s big?

Quan Ju De Beijing Duck House on Cambie and 12th is a famous China chain for Peking duck. They make a whole presentation about it and lights the whole duck on fire in front of you.
This place I can personally say I've dined and my opinion on their duck is ... quite meh. While it was decent, for $100 a pop you would think you get the WHOLE duck. Nope it's just 1 course, the skin. I assume the rest of it is used for their other dishes? So I pay $98 for the skin and have to pay another $30-$40 for the rest of each dish...
I actually wanted to go there to try their "4D" experience room however they said it wasn't ready yet.
Damn, so cool that you can get so many sounds. The plus of no leaky pads or reed issues, plus embouchure issues. I've played everything from flute, clarinet to bach (Herald) trumpets and tuba. The sound is so digital and edgy. Silicone implant titties kind of thing. Anyway, like any instrument, it still requires human touch. I just have to get past the whole concept.........
So i have been talking to this company over the phone that wants to install a skilled base gaming machine in our store. It has 100's of skill based games and customers can win money. this is the machine.
It's a fckn video lottery terminal. No way this is legal in B.C. but they claim it is. The lady on the phone claims they have lots in our area but can't give me a location. The manager is going to call m next. I'm going to see if I can get one.

Is there any place or anyone have any recommendations where I can get total blood work done that is detailed to the point of vitamin deficiencies, testosterone, etc.
Any place I can just pay and have extensive testing done as opposed to trying to get a referral etc

Go through a naturopath.
Catalyst Kinetics Group on Edmonds has a few that can send off those types of testing for you.

I agree on QJD on cambie being disappointing.
Mott 32 was much better...and was my opinion the best Peking Duck in Vancouver....I hope they reopen soon.

Karis says she was told that the dress she was wearing was inappropriate and that it made her teacher — a woman — and a male student uncomfortable because it reminded them of a slip.
WUT!!!
Boys are felling uncomfortable because this girl's dress is looking too hot?

A slip, I believe, is worn under dresses and skirts to prevent light from getting through so as not to show anything inappropriate. Also keeps perspiration off of dresses and skirts. Dresses and skirts hang better if slips are worn. Not the kind of thing you wear on the outside. She's just weird. Trying to be different. There's nothing distracting about what she is wearing other than it's gross and offensive to the eye. And I'm not even into fashion. Her mom has no idea what her daughter is doing because mom doesn't know how to wear clothes............
Slips are also worn as lingerie. Had its beginnings as petticoat.
And what's with the comment, boys need to control themselves and girls should not have to cover up? Girls want to dress up like a whore, so be it. It's a free world, I guess.

I can see some "lacey" trim on the top and bottom, those areas look a bit lingerie inspired. But meh, in this day and age, I wouldn't expect that would be something too alarming. I honestly wouldn't have noticed or put those two connections together on my own.
