Replaced the toilet flapper because it kept getting stuck and water would run continuously every once in a while. Now the water keeps running every 15-20 minutes to refill the bowl because the water level in the bowl slowly drops over time. Thoughts on what it could be? I'm thinking of buying one of these to replace the whole valve including the gasket between the bowl and seat. https://www.homedepot.ca/product/kor...are/1000838186 |

Is the chain from the lever to the flap just a little too tight? Holding it up just enough to let water pass Universal flap? OEM? |
either the flapper is not forming a tight seal or the gasket between the tank and the bowl is starting to wear away. let the tank fill, then turn off the valve so it can't refill. let the leak drain the tank. check back later and see if there's a little bit of water at the bottom just up to the flapper. if there is, then the gasket is likely fine and the flapper is the problem. if there is no water left, then it's potentially the gasket. |
i have the same issue once in a while. sometimes the chain pulls the flapper at the wrong angle (chain floats to the side? i dunno). i just lightly press the switch to tug on the chain and that fixes it. i can hear a trickle and that's when i know the flapper didn't close centre yes it's annoying :lol i'm reading bobinka's post looking at his avatar thinking it's very appropriate :lawl: |
basically everyone has said what I was going to say. Make sure the seal is actually sealed. Sometimes there's a crack because of the chain or because the plastic/rubber is getting old and hard. |

Hate that shit when it happens, when the flappers gets replaced. Literally have to leave the toilet cover off to fine-tune that bitch until it is fine. I remember the last time I replaced mines, the damn chain was so fucking long, had to cut it to proper length. |
It seems like the mouth of the toilet tank is close or almost at the bottom so it's inconclusive whether or not its the flapper or the gasket when I let the water drain to the bottom. However, I played with the flapper and the time between refills is not as frequent now. The flapper in question is this Moen one - https://www.homedepot.ca/product/moe...per/1001163148 I think I'll grab this Fluidmaster one and see if it makes a difference - https://www.homedepot.ca/product/flu...ban/1000110879 Don't think it's an issue with the chain because the flapper opens and closes fine. Just hope I don't actually have to swap out the whole valve flush. I tried removing the nuts that held the tank to the seat earlier and it just wasn't happening, lol. |

^ heard that on the radio and I had 2 thoughts. The scammer should be hung upside down and skinned alive for cannibalizing on vulnerable seniors. Second thought was ... how naive are these seniors? |

Anyone else getting spammed by fake #s/businesses with nothing but a modem/fax connection sound? Been getting soooo many of those recently |
I've been getting 1-2 calls in the afternoon from random business phone numbers in Ontario. Sometimes the number is from the States; I don't pick up any of them regardless. |
Telus has something called call control, When someone calls you they have to press a number to connect to you. It stops a lot of span calls. |
This is new, got a recorded call saying I was exposed to covid something something. |
"Please send us $1000 in amazon and iTunes gift cards to be protected from covid" |
I get something along the lines of... Border patrol seized my package and is coming after me. |
I get that one daily. I always speak to the “agent” and fuck with them though. |

They usually will try and say there's no french agent available then I go on a tirade and they will usually hang up on me. Although this one time, I did get one of them to believe my name was Suk Madiq and that I lived at VPD's office. |
My favourite was when I had someone pretending to work for Microsoft telling me I’d been hacked and was asking me to verify personal information. I said “well hold on, I work for Microsoft too let’s get my IT guy on the phone!” For some reason he hung up. |
Sikhs use turbans to rescue guy at golden ears park. https://globalnews.ca/video/8271018/...ears-waterfall |
Knowing absolutely nothing about Sikhism and the significance of turbans, that's: 1 - incredible in a large number of ways, and 2 - their hair is surprisingly well kempt. I always thought they don't cut/groom and it'd be like 5 feet long. |
Anyone know what the covid restrictions are for travelling to Hawaii or LA? Do we not need a covid test anymore to enter the states if you're vaccinated? |
No need for a COVID test to enter the states, just upon your return. |
