Sonick is a genius. I won't go into detail what's so great about his post. But it's damn good!

A couple of months ago, I went in to have some blinds cut. This woman goes about her task, and its taking forever. She's trying to fill my order while at the same time help people in the department. That's fine.
And hour later, I go and there is now 2 people and they seem to be struggling a bit with the machine and its measurements. I kind of talk them through the logic of the math so that when I get home, the shit actually fits.
Now, this month, I go in for the same thing. Same woman is working. Tell her what I need and ask how long. About 30 minutes.
OK. Off I go.
I go back an hour later and she's all stressing at the machine and there is a pile of broken merchandise next to her(I'm assuming cut to the wrong size).
At this point, I figure that I was super nice the last time. So I start asking some more pointed questions.
"So how much longer now?"
"Oh, it shouldn't be too long...I got slammed blah blah blah. I just need a bit of time to complete. "
"Ok, well, you've already had a bit of time here and I have 1 set of blinds and a pile of garbage."
Ok. So I was a little mean.
And she starts losing it. She tells me that she's diabetic, and has low blood sugar and needs to eat. I wish 'they' would have a few extra people here, y'know.
"fuck"
So she's actually swearing in front of me.
Finally, she throws her arms up, says she can't do it, and walks away!
Yes! Broken. Finish him!
So I went and talked to the floor manager and he kind of already knew what happens with her in the department and just kind of rolled his eyes and said, "we're working on it"
Offered up a $50 gift card for my trouble.
THEN..it took an another like 10 minutes to even get the card!
If you are offering something because a guy, on the clock I might add, has been in your store for 90 minutes...snap to it people!
Good god.
Thankfully, the only thing I buy there is vertical blinds because they can cut them to size and hardi backer board because its cheap.
Their wood is also mofo expensive. I had plenty of time to compare price

I like Lowes. Been there all of three times, but man, they have a really good selection. And, they're stocked up. I give it 6 months and they'll be like Home Depot is now. Home Depot's shelves are bare. Looks like nobody orders stuff.
I remember when Aikenhead's (before Home Depot) opened up. They had people at every aisle.
Next time, Gridlock, ask the lady when her shifts are. When she asks why you want to know. Tell her you want to avoid bad service. She's probably too dumb to figure that one out.
Not surprising, it's the same issue every big box construction store will perpetually have.
The people they hire lack even the most basic knowledge required to work in the departments they are typically placed, but the companies expect a brief computer guided learning session will equip them to answer all sorts of questions. So they place them alone in a department and expect them to succeed, but inevitably they just flail about all confused. The employees often are less equipped to answer questions than the customers themselves. Doesn't work, never will.
Still miss those cashiers from when I worked at Home Depot.

Looking to buy theses goggles, and planning to have it shipped to point roberts but it only asks for a billing address. They dont seem to separate the billing address and shipping address. Is it possible to just put in the point roberts address or does the billing address have to be the same as my credit card address in order for the transaction to go through?
yeah, I mean I've bitched about hd too...right in this thread, but this took the cake of bad service.
I don't know...I'm a pretty logical guy. I go in and know what I'm looking for and what I'm doing. I get annoyed when they question me, which has happened a few times, but don't want to be so arrogant to believe that I can't make a mistake.
I mean blinds. IT'S BLINDS! When I went to HD to have the ones for the windows cut, I gave her the measurements and she asked, "do you need to account for any space?" I tell her, "the math is already done, I need the finished measurements to be this."
"Ok. Give me 10 minutes."
I'm not trying to send the blinds to the moon here.
Watching this lady melt down was just hilarious.
You can always tell what the place is like to work for by how the people are on the floor. I know that Canadian Tire must be a hell hole. Why? I've never seen a smile on their face.
Dino went with me to HD last night and was trying to help me think if there was other stuff that I needed. She engages a ldy who starts walking her around the store and won't leave us alone. It didn't help that the store was closing in 10 minutes.
She comes back rolling her eyes and I just say to her, "now you get it? NOw you understand why I come home rolling my eyes?"
Good customer service shouldn't chase people out of the store.
Oh, and if anyone is looking to buy any wood, don't go to Lowe's. So mofo expensive. HD is pricey, their molding is ridiculously expensive, and Lowe's makes that look cheap.

Usually your billing address has to match what is on file with the credit card company otherwise the transaction will fail.
