Maybe the limo can take some kids for rides while you’re getting photos done? The kids would love it and their parents would get a nice little break..

Assuming there will be kids there, of course..

It's pretty easy to fill up 4 hours especially if your home or hotel is far from the venue and you want to drop by places to take pictures. Having a limo for taking pictures in DT would be great cause you don't waste time finding parking for 2 cars, or more if you have a largish wedding party with you.

In hindsight we would probably have benefitted from a limo because we lived in Burnaby (didn't book a hotel), venue was at UBC, and we took pictures in DT. Also stopped for a quick bite in between. Yeah it was a few hundred more but we probably could have gotten more done.

Especially how long it takes women to 'get ready'. Always late. And now there is a small group of them.

Some women can take four hours and the results are well worth it. Some can spend an entire day and look like the joker, a hooker, or worse.

Amazing how many women have no idea how to use make up properly.

in market for new car
Went to a car dealership, looks empty, asked if they are closing down, they said no, we don't have any cars to sell, there is wait list...
I haven't been in the market for long time so I guess that's the thing now with covid and everything in shortage....

so, is there still room for price haggling? or we pretty much pay MSRP because of shortage?

My Gr 12 memory of Economics regarding supply and demand tells me, you're paying for MSRP. Ask for a set of comp floor mats ... maybe you'll get it.

In this environment, some might say you would be lucky to be paying MSRP without a dealer Market Adjustment

It's suppose to be a party so for any south Asian wedding reception a dance floor is a must.

No, some people are actually paying above MSRP.. at least in the Mazda 3 subreddit I'm in.

I've been getting emails from the dealership I bought my car like on a biweekly basis asking if I'm interested in trading it in for above market price.

Check out this story from NEWS 1130: https://vancouver.citynews.ca/2022/0...-homelessness/

Some good news from our BC government in terms of helping youth at risk of being homeless.

My tax dollars are being put to good use to help people.

B.C. is detailing exactly where $633 million in funding for former youth in care will go, as part of a cross-government approach to target the root causes of homelessness.

Several cabinet ministers gathered for a news conference to share details of money first announced in Budget 2022 for supports over three years for people experiencing homelessness.

Mitzi Dean, minister of children and family development, says $35 million over three years will help former youth in care, almost half of whom experience homelessness at some point in their lives.

That includes one year unconditional income supplements of $1,250 a month plus a no limit earnings exemption for young people so that they have an incentive to work into build that independence themselves, and expanded medical and health benefits,” Dean said Thursday.,

Other funds to help the homeless outlined by the ministers include $164 million to expand the government’s complex-care housing program and $264 million for a permanent housing plan to support about 3,000 people who were temporarily housed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is not a joke.

Toyota called me 4Xs now since I picked up my prius prime from last April 2021. And all 4 times, the sales will say, doesnt matter about milage, as long as it has no claim history, he is willing to offer me what I paid (including all taxes and fees and interest) to get the car back.

Even though he didnt offer more, he basically just means that I drove the car for free for the last year I've owned it....

Too many people sitting at home making YouTube videos in hopes of going "viral"

Instead of going and supporting the economy by building cars

Cue 30%^ yoy car, food, and housing prices

Making money off social media is the new pyramid scheme… there will be like a 5 year period where a swath of young people try to make money at it, discover they can’t or that the pool of money available is way too diluted and then go do something real.

sounds like real estate, with the exception you have to get a license to be a realtor

Real estate has paid off though because the price of houses went up like crazy and they’ve always been on the same %… double benefited! There’s no reasonable rationale why a realtor should still make the percentages they do when the selling prices have gone up 500%… the job didn’t get 500% harder, if anything it got easier.

RE agent is competitive, everyone fighting for that piece of small pie. I've seen some friends say that they chose this field because they can work whenever and wherever they want LOL. They call themselves, entrepreneur? that has made shit all, but talk like they made it big. Typical fucking entitled fucks as they only say this because they still live at home and use mom dads money. With adults responsibilities with bills to pay, selling a one-bedroom every few months ain't gonna provide. Some people need a true reality check.

Selling a 700k one bedroom every 3 months actually will provide. That’s 80k of commission a year lol. The commission structure really needs to change to reflect the market.

Maybe my math sucks and it's Friday LOL but how did you get $80K commission?

$700K per 3 months. That's $2.8M per year, seller & buyer each would get $40K a pop per seller agent & buyer agent, isn't that the math?

I just googled and used a commission calculator. If my math is wrong it’s googles fault, I don’t know shit about what realtors make other than it being too much in vancouver.

It's 7% on the first $100k and 2.5% on every $100k after that... and they split it with the other agent if there is one or keep it all if there's not. Sometimes they don't split it 50/50 but it's close.

So yes, a $700k condo would pay out $22,000 in commission... so ~$11,000 each agent.

Condos you need to sell more... but I mean... how many $3-4M houses are changing hands in the lower mainland each day? Does someone throwing up a listing and photos and then picking from a group of 10 bidders the day it goes up for sale deserve half of a $92,000 pay day (assuming a $3.5M sale)? You could literally make 6 figures just selling or repping the buyers of 2-3 pretty average homes in Vancouver a year.
